I don't write much anymore
Because the words I want to say
Slip between butter fingers
And behind the gap in the fridge
That no-one can be bothered cleaning
But I love you still
Oh I love you still.
Do you remember the day I walked away?
I can see you standing there
With your hands in your pockets
And that hurt in your eyes
Silently asking
Why are you leaving?
And I didn't have an answer
Because I loved you still
Oh I loved you still.
And somehow weeks became months
And loving words a harsh reply
To a problem which only exists
In my mind.
Do you trust me not to hurt you
Because I still want to run away
But I'm here and I'll stay
Because I love you still
Yeah I love you still.
And now you're walking through the door
With a world weary smile
And a tie that's already half off.
The kitchen needs cleaning
And the bed needs making
And I really should have done the washing today
But all you say is
I love you still
Oh god I love you still.

i read this because you wrote back to what i wrote....
but i'm not repling as a kind of compliment for compliment.. no.
this is so light, agaisnt the darkness...
another stronger power then the hate.
thankyou...

I love this first part, because its poetic beauty contradicts what the words are actually saying.
I understood every word of this poem. Don't give up writing just yet, QB

Wow, i LOVED the way you phrased this piece honey! I never really know how to respond to a poem that i thought is really well written and said, but you really got the point across, its very life-like.
:)
