It's real ace (British slang word for good/awesome etc) to know, Cursed, that you are recovering and I'm sure that your thread is not only helping you--- but others whom are either lurkers or current members of the site and people posting. That may help you further, knowing that you are also helping others. Can I ask, have you had any CBT? It's very good for looking at thought patterns and it really does help. It's funny how we can often think so many negative thoughts without realising that we are actually doing so, that can have a negative impact on our state of mind / lives. CBT is good at looking at those, helping people change them and have a more positive state of mind, which is said to speed up the recovedry process.
Also exercise will do this. The reason is because exercise releases feel good hormones--- endorphins, which certain drugs either taken them away during drug use or fill them during drug use, of which the person then, once stopped, has to deal with the "lack of" these hormones. That's why you feel terrible and when you exercise, more of those feeling good chemicals are released and will speed up the recovery process. Of course, it's up to you, these are just suggestions, but some people feel terrible at the idea of having to exercise, thinking of gruelling / "boring" routines at the gym - it's that's not your thing it doesn't have to be like that. A brisk walk or a light jog once a day would help, for instance.
Please take care of yourself and thank you for sharing your recovery with us and letting us give you help / advice. Addictions are not easy to overcome and I think that anyone who does so, is an inspiration, in my book.
