Heroin sticking anziety

I hope this is in the right place and please forgive if this has been covered but I was just wondering if anyone else has had this anziety.

I can hit my self in every vein from my toes to my finger veins (you know the tiny ones in the creases of your fingers yeah I have banged those)

But I go to the hospital cuz of a kidney stone and they are going to give me a shot of Dilaudid 4, and it was all I could do to not freak out.
The flood of fear and the want to run out even with the stone boring it way into my prostate.

So why can I hit me but freak out when others, more qualified people, try to just stick me not even in a vein?

I would always rather IV myself then have another do it. Part of tour anxiety might come from the expectation of euphoria, especially from a legal source you didn't think possible. Placebo (especially of your DOC opiates) is one hell of a brain fuck sometimes

Something to add is that most IV opiate addicts have more needle experience than most LPN/nurses.

A fear of puncture wounds built into your DNA, along with the fact that we can't really trust others to have our best interests at heart (part of what makes BDSM so exciting, I imagine).
