I'm thinking about running a cycle or two. I have done little to no research, and thought that this might be a good place to start, or at least get me pointed in the right direction. I'll start with the basics:

• Age: 27
• Height: 6'1"
• Weight: 175 lbs
• AAS experience: none
• Goals: muscle mass without gaining fat (I would like to put on 25 lbs by August
• BF%: 8%
• Diet: 2,500-3,000 calories/day
• Work out schedule:
Day 1: Chest/triceps/cardio
Day 2: Back
Day 3: Biceps/abs/cardio
Day 4: Shoulders/legs
Day 5: light chest/heavy cardio (I sometimes skip this one)
Weekends off.

I put on 16 lbs in 3 months (after two months off) doing this routine using creatine and lots of protein supplements. I was pretty stoked about that, but I took 6 weeks off to go traveling and I lost 9 lbs. I also put on a tiny bit of flab around the gut while on my previous routine, even though I wasn't eating any junk food. I would like to avoid that if possible. Also, I realize that I should be working out 6 days a week, but this is not realistic for me based on my work schedule. I usually work out for at least 1.5 hrs per session though. I would be open to suggestions regarding alternative workouts as well, but my current workout has been pretty effective so far.

So is my goal of 25 lbs of muscle in 4 months using a little helping hand realistic? What should I be looking at using? Cost isn't really an issue, but I would like to keep things cost-effective at least. Also, I am in Canada, so it would be extremely helpful if people could suggest options that are readily available in Canada.

thanks!

Hey toa$t - thinking of joining the dark side, huh ;)

Good too see a well laid out cycle plan for a change....

Right couple of things off the bag- you DO NOT need to work out 6 times a week. 3-4 weights sessions and 1-2 cardio sessions is all you need. I'd also split up the cardio and weights sessions if possible. That should also reduce the ammount of time spent in the gym. If you're in there for much more than an hour then cortisol raises may damage your gains (this is debated at the moment).

Your routine doesn't look bad. Make Day 2 Back, Bi's and Abs and Day3 Cardio and thats a solid routine.

I'd add some extra cals to your diet.

25lbs is easily possible in 4 months with some help of AAS (especially if you haven't cycled before).

Cycle would be something like:

Weeks 1-12 Test Cyp/Enanth 400-500mg EW (split into 2 doses)
Weeks 1-12 HCG 250iu EW
Weeks 1-4 DBol 25mg ED

Weeks 14-18 PCT (Nolvadex/tamoxifen, Clomid or one of the newer SERMS, we can give you better info if you know what you're gonna get).

Weeks 1-8 - Milk Thistle 1g ED
Weeks 1-8 - LIV-52 @ 9 tabs ED

As you've also got a low bf% I'd be tempted to run an androgenic hardening agent towards the end just to show off and cut a lil bit of fat. Masteron would be ideal but if you cant get that then some winstrol would be fine. If you were running winstrol at the end then I'd run the liver protection for the length of the cycle+PCT. This is slightly more advanced and you might want to wait until your second cycle to try this....

I just wanted to thank you for reading the rules and for properly posting your stats. Good man! ;)

You need more calories! I'd increase it 25-50%.

p-mo is spot on, follow his lead and you'll be fine. Good luck!

p-mo, you rock.

I don't know if I can do back, biceps and abs all in one day though. I already spend over and hour on back, and it's definitely my weakest point.

and I don't know how people can possibly eat more calories than that. I stuff myself all day at work and i can't do it!

too little HCG in his write up. 250IU every week is just going to temporarily spike T-levels and then decrease them, its going to give you side effects like acne/oily skin and hair loss. I'd rather see you do 250IU 3x/week if you're going to run HCG during your cycle (a real good idea I think).

25lb weight gain is definitely possible, but this is not about how much AAS you run. You have to eat that much over your maintenance. If you were running all that AAS (with the Dbol) then I'd probably shoot for 800 calories above maintenance at least.

also for PCT you might want to check out aromasin. Its a suicide inhibitor of the aromatase enzyme (the enzyme that converts test to estrogen). Its worked real good for me during PCT. My PCT was nolvadex 40mg ED first week, 30 second week, 20 third week, and aromasin 25mg ED for 5 weeks (start them concurrently and run the aromasin past the nolvadex). I'd steer clear of clomid personally but its just because I've heard some worse side effects with that compared to nolvadex (be prepared for your sex drive to be almost totally killed on nolvadex, which is the one downside, not sure if clomid does this).

You also might want to think about having enough amiridex on hand especially during the first part of the cycle if you run the dbol (enough for .25mg ED which you probably won't need that much, more like .25mg EOD). This is to get rid of the water bloat that the Test E and Dbol will give you (bloats your face and such if you're prone to it).

also, can/should I continue to use creatine during this cycle?
yes, during and after (365 days a year).

also, check out the routine "Baby Got Back" - its a 4 day push/pull vertical/horizontal split. Its fucking AWESOME. Its a bodybuilding workout, so its going to be perfect for your bulking needs. I'd start it if you were gonna run it like a month before you start the cycle. That way it will give you a chance to reset the weight loads you're using (deload before cycle) and then blast up and be at your prime once you start popping the dbols and waiting for the test E to kick in (around week 3).

Do abs on another day then. I don't specifically do abs or biceps- doing back tends to work the biceps (rows, chins and deads). I'd only do curls if I had some extra time to kill.

Abs are worked through bracing the core on most exercises (especially squats). I do use an 8-minute abs video once a week in the evening on one of my off days if I fancy trying to work them a bit.

yeah, I tried the whole 'I don't work my abs' thing. it doesn't work for me. and I think huge biceps look kickass, so i will probably keep working those too.

What lifts do you do for your back?

chinups, deadlifts, pulldowns (wide and narrow), cable seated row (wide and narrow), hyperextensions and one arm dumbell rows. I try to get 4 sets of each.

Like p-mo said...you hit the biceps when you're doing a lot of the back exercises...I follow this split

day1- chest
day2- back
day 3- legs
day 4- shoulders/traps
day 5- bi/tri

Abs, forearms, and calves are done 4x a week

As for the AAS

can't go wrong with a test only cycle

500mg per week or enanthate or cyp...and proper PCT with nolvadex/clomid/hcg

I don't know how you do bis and tris in the same day. I know a lot of people do it that way, but I can't seem to hit both properly when I do them the same day.

I just focus on a lot of isolation lighter weight exercises that allow my muscles to really squeeze at the end of every repitition....My arms are hit with heavier weights and chest day and back day so friday is more of a day where I just get the swole pump going on.8)

PARooolller, I think I'm going to try that. I know I am guilty of using too much weight when I do arm exercises and not getting a full pump. My biceps were huge at their peak, but ironically, the peaks were weak.

Don't think you need to go heavy on arms, especially bis, to get that peak........

There's a professional at my gym who doesn't exceed two 10 lb plates on the EZ-curl bar for preacher curls.......It's all about contraction....
