steeped in sorrow

My soul seems steeped in sorrow
Reeling from choices I've made
I relive the past month in my mind
Time and time again
If I'd done this different?
Should I have changed that?
Would it have made a difference?
Could anything change your mind?
You say its cause of all your problems
That you just didn't want to drag me down
You say you still feel for me in just the same way
You say that you miss me
But what can I do to change your mind?
What can I do to make you realise?
I knew all of this before we started
I knew all of this before we began
I thought the whole idea of a relationship
Was to always be there for one another
To hold your hand, hold you tight,
And help you through the harder times.
But instead you decided you were a burden
Instead you decided not to stay
You thought you were only going to drag me down
Still, I see things in a different way.

I think poetry is written mostly for pleasure, by which I mean the pleasure of pain, horror, anguish and awe as well as the pleasure of beauty, music and the act of living.

if you found out you were dreaming, would you want to wake up?
Please don't interrupt me. That last sentence took a lot of effort to think of and now I have to think of another one.
