Well I wanted to get the sub out of my system fast! so I got the naltrexone took 50 mg...feeling like a warrior ,thinking I can do this!WELL I advice against it ! 1st body temp shot through the roof,2nd not restless legs but restless entire body, could not sit still, could not be touched or comforted ,freezing's then hot ,in/out of showers few times an hour, anxiety times 20 all guilt comes back to you hard.NO sleep to escape just sit and rock,,,can not sit still..cant hear comprehend others talking was on heavy meds as well to help, they weren't even touching me ..then the vomiting diarrhea and urinating one could not wait for the other if you know what I mean..a mess,my friend wanted to call a hospital..I had to disappointingly stop and go back on the subs and slept like never before. You will wish death will come.I write this for anyone thinking for a quick jump, love yourself to wean down slowly ,we are not animals,I can say without exaggeration it was torture mentally and physically..I will never forget it..today my body feels sick, ribs hurt from vomiting.eyes puffy from crying, cant eat etc. Please wean and be kind to yourself,as addicts we want what we want and want it now.please change that train of thought God Bless

Thanks for sharing this warning. Doctors who use naltrexone to speed up withdrawal do it in a along with a medically induced coma, by what I've read anyways. It tends to be to hellish otherwise. Rapid or accelerated detox doesn't get that many great reviews on efficacy either.

I'd advise against naltrexone to speed up detox except under a experienced physician's care and even then I'd likely express some reservations. Hope you are feeling much better soon.

Thank you Enki and Capt....Enki I can really see why an induced coma is needed. No meds helped clonidine.klonipin, baclofen and an anti emetic..nothing!I could never put into words the type of suffering it was and then all the psychological came in...past guilt...repressed memories etc.Entire body restless syndrome with no relief in sight.Well you get the idea...I agree entirely Enki. Capt.can you tell me where and why naltrexone would benefit after the natural process of detox is over?benefits etc.
