Anybody playing this ? Not played SC before but was a big fan of the Age series RTS.

Cant believe no one is talking about this. I played the first one for hours upon hours when I was young. Im about to go buy SCII. I hear good things.

Been playing the campaign for the last two days, so far im loving it. Although im pacing myself with how quickly i finish storyline missions, making sure i complete all optional missions. I hate finishing games too quickly ;)

I could talk about it.. but i'd rather people see for themselves :) I liked that no game reviewer received a copy of the game until the public release date, thus preventing any sort of inside information.

Yay for surprises.

Appreciate you guys not talking about stuff too much, as a lot of us haven't had a chance to get into the game as yet....but you could always hide such 'spoiler' information on beating campaigns inside of nsfw tags if you wished.

I would be interested to hear how you all feel about the graphics, the AI balance, and general gameplay. :)

I got it and let me say, its peaches and tits. The first SC was like a C or D cup. This is a DD or DDD hands down lol.

The custom maps are alright, but not that many cause it just came out. I ahvent found any bounds yet :( The campaign is sweet as shit. Havent gotten into melee cause I need to get warmed up in the game again. Def worth the money and the 10 year wait lol.

I got all my settings on high and I get no lag what so ever. I feel like they dumbed down the battle.net. Looks like Combat Arms how its all like kidish and what not. And I miss the 'dun' sounds when you click the buttons on battle.net

I just finished the campaign, i havn't tried out multilayer or AI versus yet.. however i can say the campaign itself is very engaging, the cutscenes really add that extra dimension to the storyline.. you can really immerse yourself within it, far more 'interactive' then SC1.

Im running the game on a 3-4 year old computer and i have no issues with FPS lag on ultra settings, graphics look amazing.. if you take a moment to watch, you can actually see how detailed each movement is on each unit, how they die, move around etc.

Definitely worth the wait IMO. :)

I am also running everything on ultra and 1080p res. Havent finished the campaign yet but I am assuming the AI to be just as good, but most likely better than the first.

I'm running it on ultra everything and the graphics are great. Cinematic are usual blizzard quality but there are scenes in between missions during the campaign where you advance the plot lines and change your loadouts and that part is really well done as well. Even the in game graphics have surprised me. There are little details in the maps that really make the game shine. Overall I am continually amazed with the level of polish of the game. Even the achievements, profile, friends list, and bnet are all very well done.

I beat like 20/26 missions of the campaign on Hard then put it down to Normal just to get through the story a bit faster because the missions started to take a while (I would have to redo once or twice to get a handle on what I should do). The fact that the campaign is non-linear is also nicely done. There was a mission I had some trouble on until I realized that if I did another mission to unlock a specific unit, then that mission would be significantly easier. Definitely a nice feature.

The multiplayer is very challenging. I was never good at RTS because I had trouble handling so many activities at once. A typical match requires you to micro your base production (scv and buildings) while scouting your enemies, then you need to start building tier 1 units, launch an attack, defense, or harassment mission, then build an expansion, continue production of tier 1 while starting up tier 2, then building a 3rd expansion and from there my mind just explodes. Figuring out all the counters, being diligent to protect teammates and assist on offenses/defenses and protect your own bases from harassment.. all while understanding the counters to every unit.. feel like my brain exploded lol.

That said I'm in 4v4 Platinum league now which is the highest available. I'm going to be practicing a lot more vs. comps and in quick matches before playing any league games though. I felt like a novice on my most recent match..

The campaign is great
terran kinda OP, protoss have no chance against terran guy who uses mauraders to kill drones :!

Best RTS in ages

Blizzard has done it again of course, the company hasn't ever put out anything less than a stellar product in my eyes.

They stayed true to the original SC, and added alot of innovation too, it melds perfectly.

The game is very user friendly so people of all skill levels can get some enjoyment out of it and of course there is basically no skill cap in competitive play.

Fucking awesome game, one of the best i've ever played and that's saying quite alot.

the map editor is supposed to be more powerful than warcraft III's

anyone tried it? how easy is it to do triggers for "UseMapSettings"?

I'd like to try it but time is limited and I'm in a raid guild on EQ2. Between work, raiding and wife time, time is devoured.
