SSRI's or Opiates, Whats Your Choice?

Depression can easily lead to drug use.

Wow - you've been through a lot!

I think clinical depression is caused by a chemical imbalance in the brain. Its very difficult to treat it without drugs. Yoga, meditation, prayer, exercise, etc, etc, etc MIGHT help, but I think most forms of depression require medication.

I HATE IT when "normal" people parade their ignorance by making ridiculous statements like "Just cheer up," or "Just get a hobby," or just "decide to be happy." As if people with depression are that way by choice.

Yeah, I wish someday I could be normal but it will never happen :(

"Don't waste your time worrying" is what my grandma told me when I was breaking down with anxiety. "You just waste your time when you worry, think of positive things" haha. I mean she's old but you know :\

Ive gotten some good information from the older & wiser grandparents. :D

^I can tell you this... usually older people become wiser and are good at handing out a lot of sound advice. The problem is... they aren't necessarily smarter and a lot of times don't follow their own advice. Not speaking about your grandparents... just [unfortunately] going on my own experience. The main thing is rarely do your parents, g-parents and other older family members steer you wrong. When I was 18, my dad was an idiot, when I was 28 he was a fucking genius.

Opiates are grand for the short term but my opinion dosent really matter ive never been on ssris,
but i did self medicate quite a bit with opiates this is usually how it goes.
-depressed
-scored (not so depressed)
-take some of my drugs usually oxy, viciodin, tramadol in that order
-feel relef from the troubles of life for about a week and a half
-get sick of doing drugs no more releif from the opiates
-finish drug stash in 3 weeks sad w/d for 3-4 days 3-4 more days pass happy as a pig in shit, till the reup comes then its allover again :/
