Yes, I know of the thread entirely on the subject of anti-depressants' effects on all manner of other drugs.

Since that thread is closed, I must take a little bandwidth because of the two people I know who are on regular SSRI treatment, yet take E on a regular basis and it works every time (they say they feel it, their pupils are dialated, body tempeture raised (however that would probably happen regardless of SSRI's), senses hightened, etc.

One is a female on Lexipro, the other a male on Prozac and Xanax. They both use other drugs, pot, shrooms, opiates, whatever is around really.

The male has an extreme history with LSD, in which he used it almost daily for nearly a year (I hypothesize this could have very well led him to need medication --he was suffering extreme panic attacks and suicidal depression--)

I don't know the female's drug history as well, but do know that she had a stint with DXM.

I was on Effexor last year (an SNRI, but the principal of serotonin regulating drugs precluding MDXX from having an effect still remains).

I was not able to roll as predicted (a friend was nice enough to give me one a couple times just to see if the theory would hold up for me).

Now I'm going on Luvox, an SSRI, and expect to not be able to have an ecstacy experience for the foreseeable future.

So, the question I pose to anyone with knowledge of nero-chemistry or related subjects is: how do these people feel the effects of ecstasy when on serotonin regulating drugs?

Are they only feeling the dopamine and adrenaline effects and merely are convincing themselves they are having the full experience? Yet both of these people have used E before being put on meds so they know the real deal. The male once told me about his wafer experience and I'm envious to say the least.

Any thoughts?

Thats one of the possibilities, or even that for them, the noradrenergic/dopaminergic effects ARE the full experience.

The other possibilities revolve around them not getting enough of the antidepressant into the brain, i.e. alter pharmacokinetics.

If they are getting enough SSRI into their brain, there is no way if fuck serotonin is being released via the monoamine transporter.
