Just curious if anyone here has experience with SSRI's and opiates, specifically heroin in my case.
I haven't used in a 5 months or so, but I used opiates, mainly heroin for a good while. One of the first time I tried kicking my doc put me on lexapro (10mg, up to 20 after two weeks). I was clean for 3 weeks before relapsing. I noticed that almost every aspect of my heroin high was reduced while on this SSRI. When I stopped taking lexapro (4 weeks on lexapro at this point) I noticed that my high went back to the blissful blanket teddy bear that is was.
I've read a few posts around the net reporting the same experience, but I can't find the cause for the life of me. Has anyone here experienced this or better yet does anyone know why? The difference was night and day.
