Spy vs. Spy

every bluelighter has a duty right now to go to the dea website and rat out on the same politician, so itll b obvious hes using (so many ppl saw him!)... lets try... Sensenbrenner

This is actually a funny idea that we all should do. But we need a common story...otherwise it'll just be disregaurded for sure. We need similar dates, similar places he was seen doing the acts, etc.

Why are these people in office? Is it impossible to stop them?

And the NARC hotline idea (calling in politicians) is funny as hell. They probably won't even get investigated though.

'Yeah, I just walked by the Senate meeting and they're having a fucking bakeout guys, I was on the sidewalk and had an asthma attack'

this will pass because it's wrong to not report your satanic neighbors. /sarcasm but seriously thought it will pass

I think if something like this did pass, and was really starting to be enforced, and enough people that know nothing about the war on drugs, the regular people, will maybe start to "wake up" and the regular non drug users that have family members in jail for this shit will start to research it more and get pissed off, talk to other people about it, etc.

Who knows. :(

I think it will just get worse. I posted this on a 'mainstream' forum, and they all said 'so?' or 'they deserve it'.

Yep, the world is fucked.

I want to stab people.

^hidden behind that "so?" is "so? none of my family would ever do drugs. and the families that do have users that do drugs, well, of course they should get reported, before their lives are ruined"

^There is no way that this bill will pass . . .now. The idea is being set forward though, and that is what is scary.
Unfortunatley, we sometimes elect crazy people, and they have crazy ideas.

It may very well pass. :(

The party of the elephant has now become the party of the Lemming. Almost none of them have the backbone to do anything except tow the party line. Representatives of the party, not the people.

Sensenbrenner would have been a proud contributor to the government of the Old Soviet, had he been there instead.

Back in the late 80's when acid was $1/dose I went to a Town Hall Meeting for Representative Jim Kolbe with a sign saying something like, "Legalize LSD" and no one sneered or frowned or told me I was insane. Kolbe is Gay.

Our other Representative in Tucson is one of about 15 who voted against the Iraq war.

Our State Representatives FROM Phoenix are mentally ill "Christians" and Mormens. It's amazing that these people won an election! (The Reps from Tucson are pretty reasonable liberals.)

Tucson is a major transport site for Marijuana. Just the other day there was an article about the Tucson sector of the border patrol confiscating something like 300,000 pounds of pounds of pot this year.

The point is: the people, police chief, National Guard and County Attorney will decide who to arrest.

We NEVER read of cops busting people for smoking pot in their homes.

However, these past few daze I'm thinking more and more that this World is HELL and I'd like to escape to an island and just forget all about politics, grow my own pot and make a pilgrimage once a year to meet up with 'cid.

Maintain that Peace & Love!

feel sorry for you americans

"Safe Access to Drug Treatment and Child Protection Act"
orwell couldn't have named it better himself. up there with "homeland security act"
dicks.

"Five years for anyone who passes a marijuana joint at a party to someone who, at some point in his or her life, has been in drug treatment;
Five years for any person with substance abuse problems who begs a friend in drug treatment to find them some drugs."

this should be common sense, not fucking law.

"Ten years for mothers with substance abuse problems who commit certain drug offenses at home (even if their children are not at home at the time"

and thats just fucking disgusting.

Well if this bill becomes law, the war on drugs will probally end sooner than it otherwise will.

I really cant even take this seriously...

Why does it seem like our government is stumbling backwards instead of moving forward in the world of drugs. I feel like the people in power are really forgetting the will of the people and seeking thier own, old school drug policy.

Aggghhh i really dont know how much longer i can pay this government!

:X My sentiments exactly.

I consider myself a very proud American, who is completely ashamed of her Government right now. :\

I think you're right. This same sort of thing happened during alcohol prohibition. The penalties kept getting worse and worse - in some places you could get life in prison for possession of a pint of liquor. Police finally just stopped enforcing the law because of the ridiculous punishments. Then when the great depression came along, alcohol prohibition just seemed trivial. My hope is that the next time a serious economic depression comes along (and there most likely will be another one at some point), the drug war will come to a sudden end and the gov't will start taxing and regulating drugs to generate some much needed income.

WTF?
They cant be seriuos?! Do they expect that it will works?I dont think so...coz this is the absurdest thing Ive ever heard!!!
I love Europe:)

I'm proud to be an American where at least I know I'm free, And I won't forget the men who died who gave that right to me, And I gladly stand up next to you and defend her still today, 'Cause there ain't no doubt I love this land God Bless the U.S.A.:(

Nobody has died to maintain America's freedom, all wars are fought for the sake of money.

If this bill even passes (which I have trouble believing it will) I don't think it will end the war on drugs. You aren't going to stop the hardcore junkies and crackheads on the street from doing their thing, no matter what the punishment (except maybe death or life in prison, and even then) In turn the dealers won't really be affected either, only the average-joe will and hopefully they will be smart enough to vote the assholes that implemented this in the first place out of office.

Our country is going straight to hell.

Catchy euphemism driven legislation right out of 1984 is killing us all -- no one wants to take the responsibility of dealing with what things actually are, so instead we try to cover them with clever language.

Read the DEA brief on this bill: http://www.usdoj.gov/dea/pubs/cngrtest/ct041205.html

"Do it for the sake of our children."
