Hello, I am rather new to this bluelight site and have found it intriguing in more ways than one. Firstly let me state, I'm not an illicit drug user, although I have had XTC a couple of times.
I myself have never really gotten into that scene, mainly due to the fact that sport has often occupied alot of my time. It has only been in the off-season that I have experimented with XTC, as during the season you have training and games to deal with, and you want to play at your best.
I have a couple of mates you have gotten heavily into the drug scene, however I have noticed that these are the ones that weren't as keen on competitive sport as myself. Most of my other friends aren't into it as they, like myself, enjoy the benefits of sport and the good feeling that it gives you.
Let me quickly state that this is by no means bagging anyone who uses drugs - not even in the slightest.
I am a teacher from Western Australia and I have realised that most of the people posting messages here are from England and the USA. Around the world Australia is known as the sporting nation - we win many of the internationally played sports with only a very small population.
Over here we have not only many competitive leagues for all the sports, but we have an abundance of social leagues, starting at A division, and sometimetimes going back to L ot M division. Basically what I'm saying is that sport is everywhere here.
I must admit that some of the posts do horrify me, as to the level of drug taking which cannot be good for the individual. I firmly believe that if you get involved in improving your fitness and well being through physical activity, we might not have as many of these drug stories. I admit that after years of playing sport, I have become quite compulsive about it - where if I don't do any activity for a couple of days, I start to get edgy, and that doesn't stop until I get that fix of activity. But this is a healthy compulsive behaviour.
It seems to me that the human race was designed to be compulsive about something - whether it be drugs, eating, money etc. I feel that it best be about something healthy that makes you feel good, rather than something destructive.
Once again, this post was not aimed to offend anyone, however I would like to hear your thoughts on the issue.
All the best.
