Countdown to the last
breath, where I disappear
to face the fury, strong
will through the fear, to
meet with the death
that calls out to me
to strip the skin and then
restructure and breath freely
in the new air of a new atmosphere,
so I go on through the swamp
to break new ground
because I’m sick of being this,
too restless being here,
got to rewire the system with
these new tools I found.
for too long I’ve been the turtle
hiding in his shell
for too long I've been the
possum playing dead
for too long I’ve shifted between
water and fire
and it's getting hard, cradling
this whirlwind.
The world's got to change
we've got to do our part
got to lead by example,
make and assert who we are.
Begins with a birth within blossoming
my new skin, then a chain reaction without.
Revolution begins in the individual,
then spirals all around.

deal with what seems to be bleak inevitability
there's got to be a way to touch
on balance, on play, on peace, on bliss
without sacrificing the quest for truth

deeper down within and
face a little death,
working on giving birth from
bones to skin and then
out like a ripple,
