Speedy feeling on Tramadol

When taking Tramadol in doses of 150mg+ I get a speedy SSRI/SNRI feeling that over-powers the opiate feeling. Does this feeling eventually go away after a few days of use? I've tried tried staggering doses of 50mg and it's still the same.

People often experience stimulation when taking Tramadol. As you have already discovered, Tramadol (Ultram) has SSNRI activity which is responsible for the "speedy" feeling you are experiencing. Unfortunately, in my experience, this feeling is always present when taking this substance. You will most likely get used to the feeling, and eventually come to enjoy it. Because this is in the basic drug discussion forum, I feel that I should warn you that Tramadol lowers the seizure threshold and in higher doses has been known to cause generalized (aka grand mal/tonic-clonic) seizures.

In any case, please be safe with this drug (and all other substances).

When I first did Tramadol back when my opiate tolerance was low enough to feel them, I also got the speedy feeling. I personally liked it even when I could nod on trammies. It didn't go away for me until my tolerance went up but then again I think Its just that I can barely feel it so I don't know.

I honestly think its always gonna be present due to the SSRI properties, just way the Tramadol is.

I know for some people the opiate effects are strong as hell then others only get that speedy feeling and that's it so I don't know I'd wait for someone with more knowledge to come and respond.

The term I tend to use for that speedy feeling is "ambitous"....I find myself cleaning, and getting lots of other stuff done. I'm not a fan of tram's due to giving me extreme stomach pain...then I feel stuck. By the time the pain goes away, it's time for the next dose....and the thought is nauseating. I thought I was going to be able to switch from oxycontin to tram...not a chance.
