We had lined up some "rock speed" (in aus, which is simply pure amphetamines), but my man gave us a fine white crystaly powder (kinda looking like sugar, but clearer), when rock usually been in big chucks of grey rocks..
He said "man, i know its not rock but we've tried it and it way better than rock." We were a bit put off but decided to test it.
Result on EZ test. Fizzed/bubled and a puff of smoke (or steam maby). and went orange quickly.
Where thinking this might be MethAmphetamines, instead of rock plain amphetamines, which would explain why the dealer said its "better than rock"..
We don't often see Meth down here in aus, all our other tests have never had this bubble/ smoke reaction. Is this a meth type reacion?
Thanks
Chem.

the orange test result, unlike the black ones, is fairly reliable as far as contamination and stuff like that is concerned.
i'm guessing you just got a lot of fizzing (evolved gas of some kind), probably looking somewhat like when you pour hydrogen peroxide on a cut (or onto some manganese dioxide=)). but it turned orange, which is the important thing.
other chemicals *will* turn colors in the orange range--many of them are chemically similar to meth, like ephedrine--but really, you should be able to tell by what the crystals you got look and smell like what it really is.
the violent fizzing could happen for several reasons.. remember that the test reagent is mostly sulfuric acid, and it will react with just about anything it can give a proton to. this includes anything even slightly basic, water, double bonds, some aromatic groups, some functional groups...
i'm not sure about this, but you might even get this reaction with the Cl- ions:
Cl-(aq) + H2SO4 ---> HCl(g) + HSO4-
which sounds logically possible, although im not sure how much fizzing and smoking you'd get out of it. if the gas isn't hydrogen chloride, then it's probably hydrogen, or possibly formaldehyde vapor if the solution gets hot.
with a pill, there are binders that cause fizzing, but with crystals im not so sure...you might also get some strange result if your meth was cut with salt... or sugar; sugars react so violently with H2SO4 they essentially combust.
