speaking troubles?

I've been noticing that speaking in general has become more difficult after MDMA use. I've not used anything heavy, probably around 20 times or so and I haven't used for about a year. I did smoke reefer a bit and drink some, but again, not so much anymore. I've just noticed that constructing sentences is a bit more strenuous, and usually takes me more time. Also I feel like I'm searching for words more often. Everything else seems fine, memory seems fine. It just seems like this issue of 'scrambled' words is sticking with me--kinda makes me wonder if it's due to xtc use as I've read other people having similar problems. Anyone else have the same happened to them?

I've certainly felt foggy with words the days after I've rolled, but I can't relate to long-term damage. I felt the need to respond because many of us (especially myself) have muchhhh improved memory and articulation from using Piracetam, which is an over-the-counter supplement. Perhaps there are other factors at work? I think we often blame mdma and other drugs because they seem like they should be the culprit, but sometimes lack of sleep, poor diet, not reading or stimulating your brain can be to blame. What research that does exist, seems to suggest that MDMA does NOT cause permanent damage- but that's always debatable too. As silly as it may sound, in your position, I'd start forcing myself to stimulate my brain by writing essays, reading challenging material etc. Working iut really helps me as well, and so do supplements like Piracetam and ephedrine (a stimulant).

My speech has been a little off but i've been binging for awhile now. I'm certain it will improve when I decide to take a major break. Word of advice, don't do ectasy then take part in a class debate the next day, you won't do very well.

When did you first notice these problems and are they getting worse or better?

I started noticing it right in the middle of the time I started using and shortly thereafter up until present. I can't say that they've gotten worse, not at all actually. But I don't think there's been much improvement either, just been noticing a general feeling of being 'stuck' sometimes when speaking.

Before I had ever used MDMA (but had pot) I hadn't experienced this issue, so that's why I think MDMA may have something to do with it. I sleep pretty well, eat well, and exercise; I could be reading more... I'm not sure about your claim on research and MDMA--I mean, I haven't really looked into it but it seems that the most common understanding I've come across is that MDMA can cause permanent damage. Regardless, I'm going mainly from what some other people I've talked to have noticed about themselves and some of the reports on this forum, not the research.

Piracetam though? Interesting, not sure how I feel about nootropics but I'd certainly consider it. Any others?

Ha, duly noted. But why are you certain it will improve after some time off? Past experience?

OP- same thing happened/is happening to me. I blame taking pills that I didn't personally test. however, I will probably never know for sure what caused it. never ever had a problem before, but one day I noticed it out of nowhere. and to be honest it scared the shit out of me. still does. sometimes I have to stop mid sentance just to think about the word I want to say. kinda like a stutter at times.

I didn't test either, but others I knew took the same pills and judged them as being of good quality. I'm not positive whether they have experienced the same issues as I have, or if they have, whether they are aware of them. It scares me too, but more than that I kind of just want to know why I may be having these troubles and if they are common. I also don't think that it is severe by any means: I don't really stop mid-sentence but sometimes I do choose different ways of saying the same thing because I can't quickly recall the terminology.

Is this normal for non-drug using people? Since a year has already elapsed with no noticeable progress, I'm thinking maybe I'll see a doctor but as many of you probably know--this is expensive! I just want to be sure that it'd be worth my time and money, and that the doctor would be able to provide some answers; I'd really rather not pay someone to tell me that I'm fine, or that I'm not fine but there's nothing that really can be done from this point. If either is the case, okay, but it be nice to know in advance. So if the latter is the situation, should I see a doc or just deal? Will a doc be helpful?

The part of your brain that's responsible for puzzle solving and reading seems to be affected as well.

Honestly I just have faith, Im still a smart guy I just havent been able to think straight lately. In the end this could be do to anything, as in stress, tiredness, ect. When I get off this binge, Im gonna start living a more healthy lifestyle. And when I transition Im sure things will go back to normal.

Hmm, I'm not sure that it is MDMA-induced--certainly could be but I wouldn't rule out other things. I know that the people around me who haven't taken MDMA still have difficulty sometimes quickly recalling terms, I know that I do too and have taken MDMA. Much of it depends on mood it seems. I imagine you're naturally pretty good at this, or you wouldn't be as concerned...but it is interesting that you say your memory isn't affected as well. I too have read in other threads that speaking less fluently happens to some people as a result of their MDMA use. I'm surprised we're not hearing from more of them...?

Just throwing my 2cts in. I've got adult ADHD and "missing" words is actually a very common thing for myself and the majority of that community. Didn't experience this growing up, only manifested in the last 2 years (only been rolling for 1)
may be worth your while to have that checked out

i think missing words is actually fairly common even among the non-drug using community, but ive certainly noticed it worse after rolling, and i suppose in the days and weeks since as well. for me it seems to be worst right after rolling and then a few days later get back to normal.

what i always do right after rolling is yoda-ize sentences. :) rolled too hard last night i think i did.
not super bothersome but can be a little annoying. it always makes me laugh when i notice someone else do it after rolling though.

i would say that if you are really worried about it piracetam seems to help missing words and even just putting sentences together and expressing your thoughts more clearly.

id imagine itll go away (or get better) on its own though. healthy living (exercise, good diet, etc) would definitely help it too.

From the first time I took "E" till the last time I took "E"I have hallucinated. I actually took it for that purpose only. I have never taken any other drug before "E". And I loved the hallucinating part of the drug. Once I slammed 10 double stacks at once just to get to it quicker. I love the fact that you are in control of the hallucinations. I was fully aware every time that they where just hallucination. Some where so profound I do not have enough space on this message to begin my stories. I have seen the other side. I met Jesus and became an American Indian in another trip. I have seen beings not from this world. I have morphed into a vampire and have aged in front of a mirror in seconds. I was aware the whole time and nothing ever scared me. Since then I have tried other hallucinegeons and none seem to come close to MDMA. People dont hallucinated on it due to the enviorment they are in. They take it in clubs where dancing and friend occupy there time from focusing on hallucinations. But they are real just ask around someone will have an experience. I have the most amazing stories to share. If interested in hearing them PM me. Enjoy it! Be safe!
