Technology SpaceX to build a special spacecraft to decommission the ISS in 2033.

You wouldn't want Boeing to do it. They would probably dock the deorbit vehicle to the wrong side of the station and push it farther out rather than bring it back to burn up.

How can this cost almost a billion ?

De-orbiting is just slowing it down so that it falls down to earth.

Basically dock on it, then it reverse thrust until it slowed down enough to de-orbit.

A billion to do that job ?

I'm just kidding. I don't really know.

Maybe they could push it to the moon and get this moon base shit going with some extra materials.

Star Wars 10 (how fun)

It would be best to use it and convert it to a space platform and capture other space junk and fabricate reusable parts.

That can help clear up the debris that causes hazards to craft up there and to make use of the materials.

Save on the cost for resphipping it to orbit.

Maybe run a budget?

hahahahaa

Actually I'm quite disappointed. They could have kept adding bits to it until it's the size of the death star.

The first thing I thought of was a battery of lasers like those old Atari Arcade Cabinets from the 80's

But I don't think it's socially acceptable anymore.

But Yeah, SpaceX or someone else will design something that is better.

Per year

Here's cumulative

Seems like SpaceX launches almost a launch per day. I watch them if I remember, but sometimes I'm too spacey.
.

Edit, I looked it up and SpaceX has had 60 launches in 2024 as of June 8.
