South Bank Explosion

Preparations for our final piece for the term at uni...We had a project on the South Bank which I personally find to be the most horrible place in London. I tried to merge common sights and scenes into some sort of homogenous collage that sums up the place in one view. This was not intended to glorify the South Bank in any way, more to present it for what it is: A confused mess of buskers, businessmen and sick pigeons.

The coloured version really brings out a lot of hidden detail, and the use of the particular colours enhances the already discordant feel of the piece. Is it finished? It feels like it needs a bit more, but that could, again, just be the unresolved discordance, which is the point of the piece.

I did a final, coloured version that's currently sat in the studio at uni. I only used three colours for that (red/orange for the objects, yellow for the background) which looks fully complete. I was using fineliners to colour in which took an age, hence why the coloured one here is incomplete.
