Hi, I was hoping to get some advice from anyone who has used ecstasy before.

Last Friday, I took 5 pills. They were called "number 1's" and were stronger than what I had had before. The high was great, but I started throwing up soon enough. Eventually I couldn't get anything inside me without throwing it up again. This was painful, but I didn't worry too much. Yesterday though, I started getting pains in my kidneys. I decided to buy lots of fruit and drink lots of liquids, but I'm afraid I may have already caused some damage.

Has anyone been in this situation before? If so could you tell me what the best thing to do is?

Thanks.

Does the pain feel like it is a strain "in" your kidneys or around them, like possibly the muscles? I've thrown up before and had those muscles right over my kidneys fee like I've pulled or strained them. The pain almost felt like it was the actually kidney's as well.

Just throwing that out as a possibility.

Yeah, xxkcxx, I think that's the pain I'm feeling. The one that strains around it. Could someone please give me some advice on what to do about this? I don't want to get Kidney failure, and I've been stuck in bed since Saturday. Please help, or just relay experiences you've had to give me an idea of whats going on, for example, how long can I expect this to last?

Thanks.

if that's the kind of pain you are feeling, like I said, it's probably just a pulled/strained muscle, not your actual kidney. But some heat on it and take some ibuprofen or acetaminophen . If you don't feel better in 3 or 4 days maybe get it looked at, but I think you'll be fine :)

maybe taking 5 tabs at a time isn't very smart. Did you test? Ketamine is a known adulterant, and is known to cause kidney problems.

Nah, he would have definitely known if there was anything like Ketamine cut with the ecstasy. Besides Ketamine is a pretty safe drug, it wouldn't cause kidney damage because of an overnight binge... and again the trip report would have been considerably different.

A ketamine overdose would put you in a dissociative coma, and you would just sleep it over with minimal hangover the next day...

Likely the pain is coming from the muscle strain it took to make you vomit like crazy.

If you're worried about your kidneys, buy some cranberry juice (preferably one high in juice content and low in sugar - most cranberry juice in the supermarket is only 25% juice and has a BUTT-LOAD of sugar thrown in) and start drinking it. Cranberry juice is really, REALLY good for your kidneys.

Cranberries contain lots of goodies, antioxidants and some antifungals that help treat and prevent everything from kidney stones to thrush. Plus it raises the pH of your urine slightly (which I'm told is a good thing if you have kidney stones or an infection).

Obviously this won't cure everything that could be wrong with your kidneys, but it is something that you can use daily - and your kidneys certainly won't be complaining.

Cranberry juice has helped me with kidney pains associated with PST usage.

Most likely your kidneys are ok. What most likely happened (if anything - other than a pulled muscle which has already been covered here) is that you barfed up everything you had, became slightly dehydrated and strained your kidneys somewhat (not to mention that your body also had to metabolise 5 pills).

Watch your urine colour and smell. If you urinate frequently (and are not drinking alot), your urine is dark and smells sweet (also look for LOTS of foam in the bowl when you piss - LOTS and LOTS) then, yes - there's something wrong with one or both of your kidneys and you need to get them checked out. My sis told me this and she's a doctor.

If everything else seems normal, crank the cranberry juice and monitor the pain. Obviously, if you are really worried, you should go to the doctor. Kidneys are pretty resilient but you don't want to fuck them up.

You should be fine though.

Peace out

There have been reports of MDMA causing Rhabdomyolysis and thus, kidney damage. As others have said, if your urine looks funny, you might want to get it checked out. Otherwise, it's probably just muscle soreness. Good luck.

I'm not sure if this is the same problem, but I had a problem for months of every time I slept in the same bed as my gf I'd wake up with stabbing pains in my kidneys.

I had several theories at the time, mainly about the bed screwing my back up or something, then I figured it might be her resting her legs over my stomach/hips all night etc...

Someone finally pointed out to me that it could be dehydration and that can cause kidney pains (I can't seem to find an article to support this straight away, there's a lot of information on dehydration causing kidney stones though)

It could have been lower back pain, but I was pretty convinced it was my kidneys with the positioning and internal feeling of the pain, however here's a crappy source on dehydration and back pain:

This health status involves their psychological state and their lifestyle activities. Obviously, smokers, alcoholics, and couch potatoes are more prone to back pain than active, healthy individuals. It also seems that everyone is more prone to episodes of low back pain when they are dehydrated and/or under extreme amounts of stress.

The dehydration idea would make sense, because I'd always wake up gagging for water from our combined body heat. Not to mention drinking far too much coffee and cheap cider.

EDIT: Forgot to mention how this all ties together to your original post. E is quite effective at causing dehydration in people not to mention the majority of drugs already put quite a strain on your kidneys, also you said you threw up a few times, which will further dehydrate the body. Not saying thats what caused it just throwing ideas around :)

Anyway hope this helps, it seems to have gone away now we have a bigger bed and I'm drinking loads more water and hardly any coffee.

Yea im having something similar right now.Spent fri and sat night hitting the piss quite hard....which meant a lot of binge drinking as us new zealanders do....which meant i spent sunday morning heaving my guts out,and i mean i was trying to throw up but it was all gone so was just reatching and havnt been the same since. Now its thurs and my kidneys a bit achy,so hope its just a muscle!!

bump on cran - get the cranberry extract and take 4x daily recommended dose. Water up to 1 1/2 gal a day and keep stretching out and trying to see if it is muscular or what. Make sure you don't stress out a ton right now, get your sleep - absolutely crucial for healing.

What colour was your urine? Strained kidneys will produce darker, more cloudy urine.
