songs you feel in your bones

This is one of those songs for me. I've thought to myself several lines from this song before I ever heard it, word for word.

The iconic counter culture song, For What it's Worth, was covered by a band called The Fabulous King Pins in 1968. Someone on YouTube described it as "a real uptempo version"

Praise for an August 1965 cover of Bob Dylan's Like a Rolling Stone by The Soup Greens. These comments are from one of the copies on YouTube.

One of the most eccentric, most legendary, and IMHO greatest Dylan covers of all time, this 1965 recording stands as proof the garage bands of tjhe 1960s could turn any song into "Louie Louie".

The most amazing thing about this track is that the Soup Greens were not from the heartland of middle America but were actually based in... Brooklyn!!

I guess you don;t need a cow college to sound like a frat party in a cow pasture...

Yes, definitely yes. I adore it and have been listening to it ever since I got that vinyl [Pebbles] vol.
This no nonsense, unpretentious version @ 2'50" along with the sharp lyrics make it a real garagepunk gem.

What a fantastic version

Yes the Soup Greens really nailed it with this one.

It fees good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can't memories lyrics? Not a problem!

Greatest cover ever! By removing the lyrics that make this song, we're each of us left to fill in the blanks with our own insecurities and shortcomings we would otherwise not allow to surface.
Alternatively, they took one of the landmark, thought-provoking songs of the era and turned it into "Louie Louie". Either way...

This was issued in America, Canada, England, South Africa, and INDIA. I can hardly believe I'm typing that but it's true.

And speaking of Louie, Louie, earlier in the thread I named the most glamourous version of Louie, Louie by a 60s girl group. Another Bluelighter loved it: "[I‌] liked both a lot. 😊"*
