Behind Conroy, with a Chainsaw...
Somewhere there's a young man
Trying to carry two eyefuls of tears
Without spilling a drop
Brim full of happiness
Ascending the stairs
Towards the black sky

Somewhere there's an alien sun
Setting in a flare of colour and light
Alone for a million years
Something we'll never see
In a coldness we can't feel
Close your eyes, imagine

Somewhere there's a voice
Calling us in tones we cannot hear
Beautiful and strange
All the wisdom of the ages
Our hearts strain to hear
But never will we understand

Somewhere, someone, somehow
Everything's a circle
Everyone's at peace
And we're the odd ones out
Spawned with cancer of the heart
With blackness in our souls

Somewhere there's a young man
Trying to carry two eyefuls of tears
Without spilling a drop

Somewhere there's a young woman
Cradling her heart in her arms
Blessed with serenity

Somewhere there's a universe
Where fairness is nature
Somewhere where we'll understand
That real peace is found inside

Somewhere a child's asking mother for food
Somewhere a tree's falling in a tangle of leaves
Somewhere an eagle's soaring on the polluted air
Somewhere a supermodel's slitting her slim wrists

Somewhere there's a young man
Trying to carry two eyefuls of tears
Without spilling a drop
As he's scrawling a line on a page
Translating feeling to words
Blindfolded in the dark night of his soul

I wrote this because sometimes I wake up and the world's still that amazing place I thought it was when I was growing up. I wrote this because sometimes I have days where I feel emotions in words. But most importantly I wrote this because I love writing, it sets me free.

fuck plaz... just fuck....

if i ever felt i was half the writer i think you are id be a very fucking happy man. id quote it be theres no point quoting the entire thing. i love the balance here. the happy and the sad. and how its kinda a cold view of both. like neither are necesarily good or bad, they just are. thanks man... thanks...

Good work Plaz - powerful imagery and emotional content. I especially like your linking lines:
Somewhere there's a young man
Trying to carry two eyefuls of tears
Without spilling a drop

Bittersweet, touching words.

this piece nearly made me cry...

It's got that perfect mix of sadness and acceptance without being at all an exercise in pity.

Like harraser said, it's great how you describe this stuff as just a part of life that we need to deal with. It's unavoidable, and it hurts, but hurt isn't necessarily a terrible thing. A little empathy goes a long way...

Oh my....

Apart from the fact that piece was extraordinarily beautiful, your last comments really got me.

That's exactly how I feel about my writing, too. Sometimes it's like the feelings are going to burst out of your heart, and if you don't put a pen and paper in front of it, it will make a god-awful mess :) There's little choice in the matter - but it's also a very special gift. Writing sets me free too.

Respect for plaz just increased 1000 x. :)

I used to pray, that that which we see in our innocenece is not the illusion. my prayers are my folly.
you made me cry plaz, I wish I could see what you see without my eyes shut so tight.
