Recently I've done quite a bit of LSD, generally about 400 mcg at a time. During a trip I was laying in bed staring up at my dancing ceiling, letting my mind wander. I was thinking of all kinds of things when a quote came to me.

"Psychedelics are the lies that make us see the truth"

I suppose I couldn't really call it a quote at the time it was more of a thought. At any rate I looked this up and couldn't find it anywhere, so I guess it actually came from me and not memory of seeing it somewhere else.

I'd like to hear thoughts on this, I had many so I'd like to know what other people think about it.

I guess this has some truth behind it, I would maybe replace drugs with psychedelics. Most drugs are lies that show us more lies in my humble opinion haha.
 
similar to my thoughts stray, but I feel that psychedelics also show us the truth about the world around us, not only of ourselves
 
This still, even, isn't a universal truth. Too much trippin' can just make infinite complexities out of ones life even though all you need to do is breathe, be in the moment. At a time I was very "up in my head" and even though I was convinced I knew what was going on I wasn't livin' my damn life haha.
 
I see psychedelics as keys/tools/sacraments that dissolve the barriers in my mind, once that happens I have a subjective experience that is created by my mind.

It can be spiritual, intellectual, creative, or whatever you wanna call it. There are so many uses for them, especially LSD.
 
its not a situation of "whats out there, i find that it all lays inside our minds."

your quote actualy means (mind manifestations are the lies that show us the truth). literal translation of psychadelic. i see it more as "mind manifestations that are the truth that shows us the lies." the lies being what we percieve as reality. lsd is a tool that shows us what we are used to isint the only truth to reality and that is all much bigger than we realise.
 
so, lightofmeaning, am I correct in saying you feel it's more of:

"Psychedelics are the truths that expose the lies"

I have to agree with the last version. There can be alot of truth in what you experience on LSD, like IMO the hallucinations correspond with emotions and feeling.

As for the 'lies' part, I reckon it would hold more meaning if you used the word 'bullshit', but bullshit doesnt really give it a catchy quote kinda feel :)

kinda, its more like psychadelics are tools that allow us to see the truths and intern shows the lies around us.

i cant say that they are truths but i will say that they expose truth.

they are powerfull tools and ambiguous ones at that. like almost everything, they can be used for good and bad.
