I recently got a bit of weed that has a familiar smell and texture to it that I have seen before and feel is some sort of adulteration. It caught my attention the first time I saw it, but I didn't think too much of it. This time though, it is on a completely different strain and has exactly the same unnatural sweet smell to it. Both times, I noticed on visual inspection that the bags looked short and the buds were heavy (not densely grown but very sticky). I'm not asking anyone to ID the spray, but can someone at least help me understand what is going on here?

it could be this stuff called Tasty Puffs or something similar. They sell it at head shops and it's technically for tobacco but you can put it on weed too. Bought it once and didn't really see any reason to use, just tasted like chemicals and took away from the actual taste of the weed.

the bottles look like this and have a bunch of flavors. I can't guarantee that's what it is though, but it did leave a very odd sticky feeling to the bud if it wasn't dried fully.

I should mention that this is good quality bud that undoubtedly would have smelled good without the spray. I have looked around online for discussion and it looks like there is stuff that is sold for the purpose of putting on the plants around the time of harvest to add weight and also change other qualities (lengthen shelf life, make shiny, etc.) Brix Plus is an example of something I'm reading about that looks like it could explain what I had. Thoughts?

Hope your pot didn't get sprayed with synthetic cannabinoids! Been reading up on those, after having my interest piqued here. Nasty stuff!

I actually used to dig those when they were available. very strong reliable yet short high with no burn out feeling. sketchy as fuck tho. and wicked nostalgia on that flavoring shit. there's "kush" smell/flavors too for people to pass off low quality biud as better. and lol my bad ill give u a real answer. could it be honey or something similar?

these kinds of questions don't deserve their own thread. use the social/information booth please..
