Benzos Something safe to slow my heart rate down?

I agree with Mike.Vick. Josh, go to see a medical professional such as a doctor or even a cardiologist.

Really this is the best and only advice. I know OP said their doctors said their heart checked out, but be it a disorder a specialist would only recognize, or anxiety or anything else, does anyone really feel comfortable suggesting anything? Im a pharmacist and dont.

Oh forgot, Josh7000, how much Elavil you take and for how long? Amitriptyline, especially in higher doses, can cause tachycardia and sometimes actual conductance issues. Its usually transient but not always.

I had this way way before I started amitriptyline, and I only take it sparingly like once now and then

I find that kava decreases my heart rate decently. If you want to remain fully functional, though, you'll want to have pretty small doses, maybe one or two tablespoons of prepared root powder or something like that. That's probably the safest thing I can think of that will decrease heartrate without creating an addiction in the process. You might want to watch your use of it while on speed, though, since I think kava is a (very minor) MAOI. Also, if you're wanting to decrease heartrate, using speed probably isn't the best thing to do haha.

Kava destroys your liver

Exercise, a low sodium diet, and a healthy sleep schedule.

Cannabis increases the heart rate. So maybe give it up.

Definitely stop using stimulants.

Kava destroys your liver

There have only been a few cases of damage that I've seen from it, and I seem to remember most if not all of those were caused by commercial extracts, which tend to use other parts of the plant (not just the roots, as it should be), which have been shown to contain hepatoxic compounds.
Basically, as long as you're just using the natural root powder, and not going crazy with your doses (massive doses of practically any drug will screw up your liver to some degree), you'll be fine. The worst thing that happens to users occasionally is dry/scaly skin.

Double edged sword, my condition makes my energy levels and focus horrific. And I don't use it daily. Like once a week

Clonidine, propranolol or atenolol. I like clonidine the most because it still allows me to come into adrenergic action (like running and sports), while beta blockers make me feel weak.

My whole life I've had a fast heart rate, it doesn't ever reduce no matter what. I got diagnosed with fibromyalgia last year from all life symptoms. I'm just wondering if there's anything safe I can take now and then just to lower it to give it chance really to relax. I just hate the idea of it being fast all the time. it just doesn't feel good. I've been to the doctors tons of times and they say it's fine. I have amitriptyline as sleep medication will this slow it? I also have pregabalin mylan for pain but I stopped that. I also use weed through a vape everyday it's by far the most helpful thing in treating my condition but it doesn't slow my heart down either. I also am a casual speed and md user. These are cool and up my alley but once again needs something for slowing down. Is there anything?

Heart rate is fast for a reason. Everyone is surprised by this truth: The organs you're born with aren't actually made to fit you, they are randomly made, so you might have a heart that's too small for the rest of your body and it needs to pump faster. The only way to make it slow down is to enlarge it with long term excessive jogging and amphetamine use.

None of the professionals have diagnosed a specific arrhythmia or other identifiable problem? If you don't know if this is cardiac or anxiety or something else I wouldn't throw drugs at the problem willy-nillie hoping relief might come out of it and hopefully nothing bad happens. If you get to the point that you know the problem is tachycardia due to atrial fibrillation or generalized anxiety or something some people are likely going to be able to steer you towards things likely to help.

You've had EKGs, cardiograms, worn a halter monitor, had a stress test? Perhaps biofeedback or meditation could help? Drugs to treat an unknown problem isn't what I'd recommend.
With this I'll close the thread for now
