Question has been answered. I myself have not ever been offered scripts for dihydrocodone and my pharmacist friend says they do not even dispense/stock it where he works. Prehaps they dont have it here in Western Australia.
Personally my theory is that your doctor knows you have pain, but given your history of addiction/abuse he refuses to perscribe you any of the stronger opiates. Whatever wording he has used to sugar coat this reality is just too bad. If he was willing to medicate using a stronger medicine he just would have offered morphine/oxycodone or something similar instead of having you try and find some loophole.
In a normal situation is not a hard question for a doctor, I mean, codeine and tramadol aren't working, try something else. He can't do that with you because of your previous problems with lying/IVing/general abuse. You might not like it, but it really is for your own good. You may just be better off looking at opiate potentiators like diphenhydramine etc.
