Some decent style at a budget for guys?

I can give a bit of advice on shoes.

At the local malls where I'm at (not sure about PA) there are discount shoe stores but they carry some decent stuff.

Not sure how you feel about Ralph Lauren shoes but I picked up a pair of RL shoes for 20$. The same pair (albeit different color scheme) cost a friend of mine 60$.

I'm not big on designer clothes but I thought for decent shoes, they were worth 20$ considering at places like journeys, I would have trouble finding something I like, or anything else for that matter, for less than 40-50$.

A lot of good suggestions in this thread btw, I've always been a fan of TJ Maxx, Marshalls, and Ross's. I like getting the same shit people pay top dollar for for much less.
 
if there is a syms near you id go there as well. they sell discounted gear because they have deals with the clothing comapnies, not because there is something wrong with the item. www.syms.com they also sell suits and tuxes on the cheap!
 
@wizecrak: Indeed, but you've got to wait until it's on sale. The Bay's regular price is a bit inflated.
 
Ross is good. Also, if paying $20 for low/ mid quality button downs... just go to Express Mens, the long-sleeve button-downs are usually only like $12-$16 and they look alot better than department store stuff. INC is a ross/ JCPenny brand and they have stylish shit for pretty cheap.

I have some 1970's era Gucci loafers in brown with gold tassels in size 9.5, I will sell you them for $440 exactly.
 
OP I hear you on the thrift store option. I can't stand it myself. I hardly ever will accept used clothes cause it's just weird for me, but I have done it a few times.

Wal-mart often has some decent shit these days, especially summer clothes. It might not be as stylish as Express but they sell stuff that's practical, manly, and not bad looking. I wear the stuff all the time, and please no hating on wal-mart even though they are a corporate giant - the store sustains my life.
 
OP, I feel you on trying to find a style on a budget. It can be frustrating, especially if you need to shop 'Tall' sizes like I do. I like to keep my style simple, casual. If I had more money to throw around I'd be happy to freshen it up, but right now I like to wear Cargo Pants. Simple Black Cargo pant's. I like to get the ones with the zip off bottoms, so I can make use of them in the summer time too. I like to buy Plain - Tee's from American Eagle when they go on sale, cause like I said I need size Tall and AE offer that for me. When they go on sale usually you can get the Tee's for $10 a piece, which isn't bad at all really. Keep it simple, Cargo Pant's and a fresh Tee can look just as fresh as anything else, just gotta take care of you're clothes that's all.

Edit: Also, if you live in the Pennsylvania area, if you go up to Middletown in New York, check out a Hunting store by the Mall, it's called "Ganders". It's an Outdoor Sportsmen kind of place. I go there with my father during the winter and all their clothes are meant for the outdoors, they have some really good stuff. A little on the expensive side, but trust me when I tell you that you're paying for quality. Literally every piece of clothing I see in that store is good quality.
 
Target has a lot of good stuff for sure. I own a lot of random solid color shirts and stuff from there. I'd go somewhere else for stuff like men's jackets or pants though, they don't seem to have a lot of selection with those.

You can get damn good deals on eBay if you know what to look for and keep checking back for new stuff.
 
dunno how this would sound since i seem to catch flack for saying it to friends,but i really like the clothes in the show supernatural ,would like to find a jacket like deans except not as long ,brown but with a smaller collar ,i grew up wearing the work shirts

really liking the pocket shirts that they wear but i cant seem to find stuff like that ,i mean the work shirts are everywhere but i suck at finding wardrobes

anybody help?the jacket is a hipster or somthin

that, according to the show's stylist, is the leather jacket— pelle smooth lamb zip-front hipster from wilson leather. Google is your friend. Fandoms exist for just about everything.
 
I've been buying clothes on sale at places in the mall. *gasp*
Yes, me , in the mall.
I have never been a mall person and always kind of shuttered at the thought of buying clothes in the mall.
There is a store called Vanity I get a lot of cheap, simple clothes from.
Target also has good basics. I just got 5 plain solid colored shirts for 8 bucks each from Target.
GREAT layering stuff.
Ross is alright for most stuff......ESPECIALLY undergarments.
Macy's has good jeans, and usually under Thirty bucks.
Zumiez was a temporary fav for hoodies b/c I love Shepard Fairy and they also had TWLOHA shirts and hoodies- until after a month or two of wear the elbows started whiting out. :\ Not cool.
