Some source say Ethaqualone is afaik about equal but less potent. If you google analogs of Carisoprodol, that will lead you in the right direction. I cannot speak to the safety or efficacy of any of these medications though. For instance, there are many analogs of Methaqualone (Quaalude) available for sale, but many of them are considered to be very lackluster and furthermore, many cause potentially dangerous side effects, meaning they are often best-avoided.
Thanks I appreciate it.The proper category term for drugs closely related to carisoprodol is o‑toloxypropyl carbamates, by the way.
o-Toloxypropyl Carbamates. Ludwig, B. J., Piech, E. C. 1951. Journal of the American Chemical Society, 73(12), 5894–5894. 10.1021/ja01156a536
Yes, there was a tranquilizer popular in the 60's through early 80's. Generic name was Meprobamate (Miltown) was the brand name. In the mid 70's my mother had a prescription for Miltown. She rarely took them so me being 17 took it upon myself to liberate her medicine cabinet. Miltown came in 400mg tablets I think. From what I understand when Soma passes through the liver it converts into Miltown (Meprobamate). I remember the first time I was prescribed Soma I felt a connection to Miltown. Here in the Southern United States a prescription for Soma or Soma w/Codeine is very rare.Yes, there are analogs of Carisoprodol (Soma) that are sold in various corners of the internet. We really can´t say where as that is against policy. Carisoprol is a member of the Carbamate family. It is also classified as a non-Barbiturate drug, as it features most of the well-known effects exerted by Barbiturates, though it is chemically distinct from them.
