Solubilities of Various Opiates...

I know that Codeine and most drugs derived from it (Hydrocodone, Oxycodone) are very highly soluble in cold water. This is why coldwater extractions work so well. My question is are other opiates as soluble?? How soluble in ice water is Morphine, Demerol, Hydromorphone, Oxymorphone, and Fentanyl in relation to the filler products also in the pills? What I'm getting at is... are extractions such as the one used for IV injection of OxyContin useful for the same purpose in pills of MsContin, Demerol, Non-name brand Dilaudid, etc... Thanks in advance.

All of them will disolve in cold water its just a matter of time. For example, if you break down a dilaudid and want to inject it, you'll want to heat it up so it disolves properly. If you don't, you could end up like me the first time I IVed it and get horribly sick. If your going to do a cold water extraction on an opiate you should allow generous time for it to disolve in the cold water.

Alternity: Most opiates are salts in their pharmaceutical forms. This effects solubilty. For example, fentanyl in duragesic patches is not a salt. It's a freebase. As far as I know, like most freebases, fentanyl freebase will not dissolve in water. However, you can create Fentayl Acetate (a salt) by dissolving in 5% acetic acid (vinegar), and adding some heat.
As far as non-Knoll name dillies: I have never had any luck with any of them. If someone has I would love to know the secret.
Dues, what happened? Were you using Knoll brands? I usually just dry pack the rig with a crushed up pill and the draw water into it. The pill dissolves nicely in cold water.

Most opioids will easily disolve in cold water, this is true.. fentanyl is a differn't story, but it's totally synthetic so it has differn't properties...
As for Dilaudid - I agree, any brand other then Knoll are just not ment for injection.. you can petition the lord with prayer but they just don't seem to cook up.. I have only actually tried with 2 other brands (Teva and Roxxane I believe) and both had CLEARLY been tweaked so as they turned the water to an un-usable slop .. it would be possible to do a cold water extract, but there isonly 4mg of drug in a pill (aside from the 8mg's which are almost NEVER seen) so it's not really worth it ..
So -
Generic Dilaudid - can't bang, might be able to cold-water..
Hydrocodone containing products - yes, you cabn cold-water these..
Oxycodone containing products - yup, cold water here we come.. this includes OxyContin, though I don't recomend you inject it..
Demerol - yes, you might need to use warm water first, then let it cool, but it will disolve..
Oxymorphone - I am sure it is soulable in water, though the only time I got any was in the injectable forum, in fact, there isn't an oral (tablet) form of this on the market, so you either get the solution to inject or you getthe anal-bullet which I have no idea if you could prepare it, I have never played with one..

They were Knoll dilaudids. I just find that heat helps break down the pill and aide in its disolving in the water. I may have just not used enough cotton and accidently got some non-disolved pill reminents in the rig. Either way though I like using heat with dilaudids.

Actually Phreex, your putting too much work into it. Crush up the pill to a fine powder and load it into the rig (dry pack). Now draw the water into the syringe. Shake the syringe up a bit. The entire pill will fully dissolve.
I always worry about adding heat to opiates. I know that Morphine breaks down at 200F. Do most of them share this property of breaking down to shit at low tempts?

I put the extra work into it and thats why I have over 2,000 injections with no known problems... yeah, I have seen it done but I just don't care to try it... I ALWAYS filter my fluids - ALWAYS! A few little particles can cause a lot of problems, so I would rather waste my time in doing it all in a spoon... you are correct - you will often not even need a flame as it will disolve all by itself, just water...

Ford, the method you're talking about, putting a crushed pill in a syringe and adding cold water, is called "cold-shaking". I learned all about talking to junkies that shared with me the secret of diluadid while I was in jail.
I'm with Phreex on this one, though. I wouldn't want to chance shooting up particles. If you're doing it right, you shouldn't lose much at all from filtering to warrant cold-shaking.

"cold shaking", huh? We call it "dry packing".
Anyway, for me, I actually look at it like I am reducing my chances of having a problem by dry packing. You never know what nasty fungus, bacteria, or virus might be growing on a spoon. Also, filters can really fuck you up. Cotton fever is always a possibilty and accidentally injecting a strand of the cotton that made it's way into the rig is always a possibilty.
It's more than obvious when you dry pack if there is undisolved particles. I shake it up till everything looks completely dissolved and then shake it up some more.
Also, the whole pill is solube. If you did hapen to inject an undissovled particle wouldnt it just dissolve in your blood stream?

Well, yes, eventually it would. But that doesn't mean it wont make you sick for a good many hours. I have personal experience with this. Like I said I didn't get a dilaudid disolved well enough and injected it. I spent about 22 hours feeling like shit. About 8 hours puking. Now I always heat it up and I always make sure its filtered well.
