Solpadeine MAX (no caffeine) red tablets -- good for CWE?

Pretty much as title, just wanted to double check with folks about performing a CWE on the red Solpadeine MAX tablets, which have no caffeine, and seems like they're not the soluble version -- which in turns means that the APAP can be filtered out of them via cold water extraction, right?

If these are the two ingredients in what you have described as per the solpadeine.co.uk site, then yes.
Please ask or search for the right way to perform the CWE.

  • Paracetamol 500mg
  • Codeine 12.8mg
Stay Safe, again, rather ask first, if you are not sure of the process of CWE

Couple of threads in regards CWE. I’m basically certain you can CWE the specific tabs you have.

Thank you, yeah if it's alright could I ask you a couple of questions?

In all honesty I've done plenty of CWEs over the years, probably did my first one more than five years ago. But the older I get, the more risk-averse I become about my health. And I begin to ask myself questions that perhaps in previous years I wouldn't have bothered asking. For example, is the common CWE method (as described by the megathread and other places) *safe*, as long as the water doesn't look cloudy? Or is there a way it could still have enough paracetamol to cause health issues even with the water "clear" (maybe not 100% clear because of pill dye and the like).

And finally, a technical question specifically, can you achieve a good CWE without coffee filters? I've never done the method without them but curious to see if I can do it with an old T shirt that's due to be donated anyway. I have Aeropress coffee filters but last time I attempted to do a CWE of regular cocodamol it didn't really filter through with them easily. I would be open to try with a piece of cloth, but then I worry that the method won't be as effective as the coffee filters, and therefore may be unsafe.

I couldn’t swear to the safeness, but have used T-shirts as filters in the past.

Cloudiness is not necessarily an issue. As you noted, certain brands use fillers and such that always leave a cloudy end product. From memory, Solpadeine is one that always clouds up.

My personal technique is dead simple: put however many tabs you desire in a shot glass with barely enough water to cover them then place in the fridge till icy cold. Then filter the solution through coffee filters (or T-shirt if feeling fruity - coffee filters definitely better). Should end up with a fairly small shot of codeinated water. Works for me but I would never claim any level of expertise… 8o
 
Alright thanks for the advice. Yeah I don't know why I suddenly became a bit paranoid about it. I was thinking damn, well maybe it doesn't really always work, and people that get a failed solution just end up dying or becoming hospitalized so they never report back on what happened.

I'm still baffled why I always feel nauseous after CWE when the same dose of codeine feels great .I'm being carefull so it's not the apap and as far as I know co codamol dosnt contain caffine 🤷‍♂️

Meaning if you try the same dose but in codeine only tablets you don't feel nausea? That's interesting. I don't think paracetamol would make you nauseous, it's more of a silent organ failure killer I believe.

Yes that's it exactly ,I gave up on it about 2 years ago because everytime I drank the solution I'd feel a buzz for 15mis the have to go to bed
My solution is slightly cloudy but I believe that's normal
I used to pass it through a t shirt to get most of apap out the through a coffee filter
I can eat 240mg of codeine phosphate, have a couple of beers and feel great
Like a warm blanket is wrapped around me
 
Very interesting indeed. I don't think it's the APAP. How many times did it happen? I reckon if it had indeed been that, you would not be typing this haha
