So which RC's these days are legal and any good?

Did anyone ever discover anything properly bad about meph? I seem to remember some serious analysis by folk who know a lot more than me, but was always just speculation.

I'm not aware of any real research as such, Kid. Still far too soon for much in the way of proper studies and convincing data I suspect. There's anecdotal reports and opinions of course (both folk sure that meph use has caused damage and folk sure it hasn't) and our resident paramedic has mentioned being called out to cardiac arrests where people had taken meph. It's not "safe" but that doesn't necessarily mean it's as bad as was originally suspected either. Still feels iffy as fuck to me on the rare occasions I have used it but so do plenty of other things. I'd not want to be using it heavily or regularly.

Shammy, my days of using anything regularly seem to be long gone. Which I guess is a good thing. Just doesn't always feel that way.....

I've actually become a bit of a part-timer myself these days to be honest, Kiddo. They'll be taking me stick off me for slacking at this rate 8(

Nowt wrong with slacking off a bit with age and wiseness (is that a word?). It's good to have the chance to be an old git sometimes. ;)

Well I trust your judgement so MXE is now officially on my list!

Only one problem with that - it ain't legal in the UK anymore (Presuming you are in the UK that is), so you'd have to order from abroad or the dark web thingy (every time I actually figure out how to get on That site, it's been busted - though I'm sure other illegal drug trafficking sites are available)

The mephedrone ban was entirely about European politics and a perceived danger that the UK would be seen to have given up its opt-out from European criminal justice directives. I've no doubt that the ACMD would have recommended a ban once the evidence was in but that is not what happened. The government was aware of and supported an upcoming ban on mephedrone across the EU. The problem the government had was that if it didn't criminalise it before the EU directive under the Judiciary and Crime commission it would create a precedent by which a criminal offence could be created in the UK by the EU. The chairman of the ACMD was given a nod and a wink and he, independent of the committee, delivered a preliminary report which had not been agreed on by the committee. The government used this to create a temporary ban followed by formal scheduling. Thus, when, in December, the EU issued a directive stating that any state which has not criminalised mephedrone must do so within the year the UK was able to say that it was not covered by the directive because it had independently banned it anyway. Two members of the committee resigned in protest because the tail should not be wagging the dog when it comes to science.
