Why is it that the people who ask for help dont get it?

Ive begged for around 6 months for an alcohol detox, whilst being strung along for months and never getting one.

whereas someone who is OFFERED one is out drinking 2 bottles of wine everyday as soon as he is let out

it fucking sucks

Who have you been ask for a detox from? Family? Does it just come down to the money or what? Yeah the world is definitely not fair but sometimes you have to try to help yourself.

Aren't there any detoxes or rehabs you can get into? Do you have insurance? Can you find a free one? Can you detox yourself? Taper down or switch to small doses of benzos?

thanks for all the responses. Money is the main issue I guess, the free place i was trying to get into was hopeless But I was lucky! Shortly after I wrote this post I caught some kind of bug i think (my temperature went right up and i felt so ill that I couldn't physically drink) so I had flu like symptoms and pretty intense alcohol withdrawal combined, fun times but I haven't touched a drop since this happened :D
