So Bluelight runs no SSL/https, and also disallows access through Tor.

Who gives a fuck?

If you're posting anything incriminating here it's your own fault really. I can't imagine the powers that be have any interest in this site whatsoever, it's pretty tightly controlled as being directed towards harm reduction or meaningless chit-chat where drugs are concerned. No one's knocking out keys of chop via bluelight.

Was a bit of a fucking pain in the ass when my server, completely legal, which I run OpenVPN through for myself personally and nobody else, wouldn't let me register my new email address and gave me some cheeky message.

Also the wrong way to look at it.

You can't access BL from the UAE, I tried several times, it's blocked just like porn sites. Mind I don't any computer skills that would help me circumvent this so I just gave up and went on gun forums instead.

When I was there my little cousin wanted to teach me all that proxy shit as it's what all the kiddos use to watch porn, but I told him no as I knew I would inevitably post on BL from hid family's home IP address and I didn't want to cause them potential trouble with the authorities, they're fucked there.

Anyone who doesn't see a need for HTTPS certificates/improved security just isn't informed enough on the subject. Say information is found in an attack that is not hashed or encrypted, this can lead to passwords etc being revealed on a basic level. I'm sure people use the same password in multiple places whether they admit it or not, your e-mail tied with that account also makes for good use too.

It's regardless of whether the content of the website is legal/safe/w.e. it's just good computing practice and if you're ignorant now and don't believe in it's importance you'll hopefully understand more in a few years. A lot of people here are mixing it up with some false potential scenarios about the information your writing being used against you.
