Hello, this is my first time posting haha, but I was just wondering a few things.

I'm considering getting my first piercing, and it is a toss up between my nose or lip. I'm worried about the nose piercing because I do enjoy snorting and am concerned about future issues this might cause.

And getting the least used nostril is not good advice, I use both.

Thanks!

Lip piercings swell and are a lot move invasive and subsequently painful in my experience.

I've had my nose pierced for 5 years now and have snorted everything under the moon with it...you're fine. I mean, I wouldn't go shoving grams of powder in my nose right after I pierced it but just keep it clean with saline solution and you're chill

^^^Me too...You do get the odd bit that kinda gets stuck on it though...I try not to use that side..but i will if my other side needs a break...I use both side..Once its fully healed you could take it out before you snort???.But it dosent come outa the hole if thats what you mean!

I have my nose pierced (I got it at 16, am now 26l and have had my lip pierced twice... removed that piercing a couple years ago. I have had no issues with the nose piercing-in general and related to drug use-and have insufflated many a drug. The lip ring definitely caused more problems-infections (rare, as I took good care of it) and many instances of sexual harassment: one of the main reasons I removed it permanently. I would say that my recommendation would be the nose piercing. Less risk of infection, chances are lower for infection, pain and everything else. Just take good care of it and be smart. Regarding drug use-alternate nostrils, use saline if/as needed and don't snort things that should not be snorted.

You'll be fine. If you're worried about infection, just buy some saline nasal spray and use that afterward.

Its a bit off topic OP but if you havent got a piercing yet, I just wanted to say: I have had 5 piercings over the years and the absolute best, pain free time where when i went to a body piercer who uses hollow needles...Ive had several done by gun and as well as hurting at the time, they took way longer to heal...When i got my nose and eyebrow done with a needle, it was honestly painless in both places and healing time was halved at least..Also when a needle is used, a small circle of flesh is removed before your stud is put in..so there isnt a bit of skin trapped in your lobe with no where to go and causing a bump!!.So if you know a piercer who uses a needle dont shy away...It sounds MORE painfull but it isnt..

I have no probs snorting with my nose piercing too.
Miss Kirsty thats totally true - Getting pierced with a gun is horrible - a blunt stud is forced thru your skin/cartilage and is a horribly crude way of doing it. Whereas a needle makes a slit for the jewellery to put thru and healing time/pain is considerably less.

Ask around for a reputable piercer. Theres lots of cowboys out there. And dont get it done at a tattoo parlour - lot of tattooists pick up piercing because its trendy and 9/10 they are crap!
