Snorting HydromorphContin

In Canada here we have Hydromorph-Contin which is basically Hydromorph just in extended release formulation. I don't know what it is called in the US or other countries or if you guys have hydromorph extended release down there, anyways I am sure you do, just another name perhaps.

Anyways, I have some 6mg hydromorph contin CAPSULE(s) with beads inside them. Now I'm sure you can crush these beads and snort these successfully, but does anybody know a good method of eliminating the extended release part. I mean for crushing these beads up, should I just keep crushing really hard or, boil them with a lighter or something?

Has anyone snorted these before? Any help would be appreciated. I have 1 Dilaudid 8mg tablet left to snort, but that is it.

I am just looking to hold off my withdrawal symptoms from a currently 160mg/day Oxycodone habit. Since I have no $$ at the moment, all I have is about 6 of these hydromorph contin 6mg capsules.

I am pretty sure I could stave off withdrawals because I chewed an OC80 about an hour or so before I crushed up 4 Dilaudid 8mg and made them into lines and split them with my brother as we are both in the same boat. This really helped. Although I didn't get super high or anything, it sure took my dope sickness away.

Any help would be appreciated, oh by the way I find Lyrica (Pregabalin) to potentiate opiates quite well, so I always take a few 75mg of Lyrica about an hour or so before if I can, and I also use Diphenhydramine to potentiate opiates as well, 50-75mg about 5 mins before ingesting an opiate.

Suggestions guys/gals?

u can def crush em up, also if ur warding of WDs just popping them may help.

i also have used dph to potentiate.

i actually think the US has hydromorphcontin too....atleast I know people in the US that have had the medication.

anyway...it kind of depends on how long your planning on "staving off wthdrawals" for me to tell you how to most efficiently dose your hydromorphs.

Well I am using hydromorphcontin to taper, its kind of a fucked up taper because I am still using Oxy, but my Oxycodone dose everyday is much lower, and I haven't been using that my hydromorph, actually like maybe 16mg/day? Sometimes even none, or just an 8mg dilaudid. This is about my 4th day of doing this.. but popping the hydro's doesn't seem to do shit. Especially if they are hydromorphcontin - Isn't that kind of hard to chew up those beads, like I bet most of the time release is still there, and I have limited supply, so snorting is probably my best method even though tonight was probably my second time snorting a pill.

I actually shared snorting 4 Dilaudid 8mg pills with my brother tonight, turned out to be two big lines for each of us. I actually felt not to bad after either. Not really high, but sure took away the dope sickness.

The US hasn't had an ER hydromorphone medication for a while (palladone being the most recent), but they did just release exalgo, which is ER Hydromorphone, but it sucks cause it uses the L-OROS delivery system, the same as concerta.

Hello fellow Hydromorph-heads, Scott here with some info on our Canadian HydromorphContin, or as previous posters said, Dilaudid CR. These are a 12h formulation where I believe the Exalgo is a 24h dosage form. The Purdue HMContin's come in 3, 6, 12, 18, 24, and 30 mg strengths. The time release mechanism is in the beads, as they are all different sizes for dissolution at variable times. So, by crushing, your capsules are now IR.
The best way to go about the taper with these if you're not getting results orally due to hydromorph's low bioavailability (~30%) is to crush these using a "pill crusher" which can be found at your local pharmacy for under 10 dollars. If you crush these you can divide your doses and take them intranasally--the finer the powder, the better results you'll have. When you take them up the schnoze your BA will rise from ~30% (orally) to around 60%, which is in the ballpark of double--being as it isn't exactly 60%. If you use it this way I'm sure you'll find you'll get the most out of your capsules, seeing as you don't IV(100% BA), which for some isn't conducive to tapering anyhow. So, sniff those puppies and you'll be on your way to wellness.
We also have generic hydromorphone made by PharmaScience, or PMS which come in the same dosage forms as the Purdue brand name Dilaudid, which come in 1, 2, 4, and 8mg strengths. Any further questions, just fire em my way.
