Forgive my naivety, but is snorting heroin more or less dangerous than smoking? How much is a dangerous level? Any advice/information appreciated....

Snorting causes damage still but not nearly as much as smoking heroin can, especially over long periods of use. The lungs aren't made to absorb heroin and all the toxins it might be cut with, and are damaged relatively quicker than the nostrils are by snorting ; to put it in relative terms of the harm caused, its much worse than a cigarette and is probably up there with smoking crack or meth. Smoking also has a much shorter duration leading to increases in tolerance much faster than snorting; that makes it way easier to become addicted to it. In my experience snorting has been the most effective recreational method of administration with the least damage/addictive potential. Don't misunderstand me, you can easily get addicted by snorting it too but the urge to use again is much less intense with this method, especially when you maintain self control. As for a "dangerous level" no one can tell you but yourself-potency can vary dramatically. Just start small and wait ten minutes then if you want a little more then do a little more. USE CAUTION and be safe, but have fun!!

^ Where is this info from? Seems like ifo that could possibly be misleading... would be great if you could list the source of your information. Some people will say snorting is better others will say smoking is better.. they all can lead to addiction and other problems, better to just give good HR advice on both, imo.

I would not say smoking is more addictive than snorting. It's really going to vary on a case by case basis. And it's also going to depend on the type of heroin... BTH is typically smoked or injected. ECP, on the other hand, is not ideal for smoking and is typically taken intranasally or injected,

OP, do you have experience with opiates? There's really no standard starting dose of heroin, it's going to vary by ROA, tolerance, and purity of the drug (which there is no real way of telling, purity is all over the place on the street). If you let me know what experience you have, what type of heroin and ROA you're thinking of trying, I can do my best to offer advice and/or resources for information. If you are opiate naive though my best advice is to avoid heroin entirely, it's not a drug for the inexperienced. Hell, sometimes I think it's not a drug for anyone.

Smoking heroin is absolutely a more addictive ROA than snorting! The faster the drug gets to the brain, the more intense the high will be, the duration will be shorter, and the need/cravings for another dose will hit sooner and much stronger as the brain struggles to get back to equilibrium after the intense high; this rebound effect makes the cycle of abuse much more likely to happen than snorting because snorting has very little to no hard rebound IME. Smoking builds tolerance much faster than snorting as well, which provokes the cycle of addiction to continue even more.

This has been talked about 100 times here. Use the search engine.. or even google...

Closing this because we don't need another discussion like this when there are already so many. It's basic info and if you can't be bothered to research basic information on the drugs you're doing, you have no business doing them.
