Snoo V7 - ah spring, has sprung, a SNOO! (bless you).

Cheers dude. Not obscenely expensive, about 30 quid for a main course. Really nice food too.

I wasnt all that happy about by 30th, my BD is just after Xmas and being born in 1970 my 30th coincided with the millennium, there was a massive local warehouse party on so I made a start a day prior and didnt stop until a day after, scattered doesnt do it justice :)

I posted a pic of me and some friends at a bit of an after party at mine a good while ago with me doing my Shaun Ryder look

Huh. You must be about 11 months younger than me.

I was lucky enough to have just received some inheritance money at that time, and rather than spend it on something "useful" I decided to have a round-the-world holiday. I woke up on my 30th birthday in New York, and flew to San Francisco later that day. The entire trip was pretty much intended to take my mind off the expected horror of turning 30, and it did the trick. By the time I got home I had things in perspective and the thought of being in my 30s never troubled me again. End of story.

Great pic Allein, you remind me of someone I knew well around my scene in those days. Everytime I see your pic I have warm memories!

My 40th was a bigger deal - heading for my 50th soonish and it feels epic. But 30 was sweet, full of adventure and liveliness. I started back in higher education (for the 2nd time) the year before so had a great mix of fun, family (divorced) with 2 wee boys and money coming in doing research for academics on the side. Nice times.

It felt like the end of my youth to me, not that it changed my behaviour in any way. Ive now got ever invreasing grey patches on the sides of my head, and am thinking of starting to dye my hair black. It will probably knock ten years off the age i appear to be. Only problem is that ive heard that seems to be a never ending treadmill once you start, as the roots will keep on coming through grey, and will look a right fucking state unless i keep up the dyeing very regularly.

Do they still do "Just for Men"? lol. Men look distinguished with a bit of grey, it really is rather attractive. Mature, worldly men yum ;)

Much more complex for women I tell you :\

hmmm, thanks. I may still give it a try though, and post the before and after results, and then you can judge for yourself.

Try a temporary colour not a permanent one. That way if you don't like it it'll eventually wash out rather than grow out showing up a natural / dyed line!

Have you considered high / low lights at a salon? Expensive but a good way to blend in the different colours. I'm giving away all my old lady secrets now lo

A former mate of mine turned into a silver fox in his early thirties. The day before we went to Tenerife for a week's "lad's holiday", he dyed his hair black to hide it, thinking this would make him more attractive to the ladies. It didn't work. He took another week off work after that so he could wash the dye out of his hair, cos he knew his workmates would mercilessly take the piss out of him, and quite rightly so. Ridiculous.

My point is, don't do it. ;)

and the rest ;)

Hah. Believe it.

I dyed my Ian McCulloch/Robert Smith hair style red when i was about 17 and that seemed to go down well. Iirc that was a temporary dye. I think I'll go with Kate's suggestion and try that first. It may well be ridiculous, vain, and foolish, so it makes sense to try a temp dye first. It would be for the same reason your former mate did it. :o Also for my own self esteem, though to have too much of your self esteem tied up in your appearance is not a good way to go i'll freely admit:\

Cheers Kate, I'll try that, i really would prefer black hair though, not boring brown.

Black will be too severe. Your facial colouring changes with age, the contrast becomes far too artificial. There's a trillion shades of brown. Some will look dark, dark without being too severe. Unless your going all out for reliving that 17 year old boy look, which you're far too old for now my dear boy - stick to a dark brown. Honestly, you'll be shocked at how dark it comes out. And the good thing with temporary dyes is you can do it again if it doesn't suit. There's no way apart from bleaching and salon work at a considerable cost to deal with a permanent dye hair crisis mistake and make it go away.

Anyway, you should listen to the boys here - they speak the truth. Grow mature gracefully ;)
