Smoking through metal

I smoke my weed in a metal bowl (possibly a crack pipe) with a metal screen I took out of my sink. Have there been any newer studies proving/disproving health problems from smoking metal? All the other posts I found on here were fairly old.

No idea what kind of metal(s) I'm smoking.

Not a study but here's an opinion: I doubt a lighter would be hot enough to burn the vast majority of metals out there, let alone the ones they use for stems/bowls. If the metal is coated with anything (sometimes they are) that however can be a health concern. I'd honestly be more worried about butane than the metal bowl itself

Just buy a glass piece, so you're 100% sure it's safe and it also tastes and looks better.

I wouldn't want to be smoking out of a metal pipe. Most metals leave a smell on the hands that I dislike, so I wouldn't smoke out of it.

Also considering that a glass pipe costs less than 10$, it's a no brainer to me.

i've got a couple metal pipes, no problems.

only complaint is they seem to be harder to clean than my glass ones.

As far as i know there are no proven studies showing metal pipes to cause damage, and as it was mentioned before, especially not with the little lighters used to smoke weed. Also the metals get hot so fast, it would burn your fingers or mouth before it hurt your lungs.

Thats one of the main reasons they arent ass popular, they get hot really fast, and they tend to clog up fast with resin as they are usually designed with small passage ways. Also you have to replace the screens often, they muck up so easily.

But they are good for little travel pipes, some have little tops, and they dont break like glass pieces.

I'll let this stay open just in case anyone knows one way or the other for sure.

It all depends on the metal. With legit, store-bought metal pipes there won't be any health risks unless you get rust in the bowl somehow.

That said, the only downside to metal pieces, in my opinion, are that they get too hot and hold too little of an amount of weed. They definitely get the job done, though, just gotta have some gloves ready to empty out and pack the bowl after a while, lol.

I can't imagine that a regular butane lighter would do anything to the metal used in a pipe. The metals are designed specifically not to melt or vaporize, or else nobody would be buying metal pipes.

I do prefer glass to metal alot, yes they get very hot very quickly, but a glass bowl can also get hot if you're taking 10-15 long pulls per session. Glass also tends to be cheaper (although this depends). Metal is definitely more durable as you can break a glass pipe fairly easily.
