Smoking Hawaiian Ayahuasca Vine...?

Somebody very, very close to me bought some from <snip> a few days ago for us to try. It says on there that the dried leaves are smokeable, but I googled some stuff about it (and hardly got any information) and basically what I got was mixed answers. Some people say that the leaves are not smokeable, and some people say that they are but produce a near-to-no effect. This seems like a not-so-well known entheogen, but I thought I would try my luck on here for some answers or insight on what to expect.

Leaves are indeed smokeable. Vine is somewhat more harsh. For best effects make an extract.

Was this by someone in the west who understands what a psychedelic is tho? Or was it just some primitive religious native willing to believe in "the sacred vine" and desperate to please the religious people he lives with?

I don't believe smoking ayahuasca vine or DMT containing leaves will have any effect beyond placebo.
