Smoking before working out

So last night I got a fresh 1/8th and decided to give er a test drive. My friend said he sometimes does it before lifting and working out, and it gives him a great focus and he can just blow and go.

Anyway I vape'd a tiny sprankle in my lightbulb. Took it all in. Have to say the lightbulb was a pretty good way to go. I didnt use hardly anything. Visually, it was like a powder area the size of a dime and probably half as thick.

Got a little buzz and felt a little light.

But let me say it doesnt help cardio activities like playing basketball. I did feel a little better lifting weights but running was not good.

Once I got moving for like 30 minutes though I really opened up and felt amazing. So idk. I'll try it with some more next time.

Anybody else ever do this?
 
usually makes me less motivated and i end up watching t.v. and smoking cigs instead of hitting up the gym like i should :-\
 
i'm the opposite, I love smoking before cardio type activities (biking, hiking, running, easier 5. climbing routes, paddling)

but dislike smoking when lifting heavy since I have to use all my concentration to execute the lift with proper form and with intense physical effort and cannabis decreases my drive to focus and exert (it makes me more indolent!).

but if I'm doing some lower intensity high volume lifting, then I like it a lot :D
 
I love it for any kind of physical activity - long distance running, heavy lifting, mountain biking, skiing, swimming, etc.

Distance running is my primary sport (40-70 mpw), and I very rarely do it when I'm not stoned. At the beginning of a workout, it gives me a real boost in motivation (otherwise I have a hard time getting out the door), and on longer runs it helps me slip into an almost trance-like state. Would definitely say a vape is preferable, as I get much less of the CBD-type sensations that might otherwise make me a bit lazy (although I've been so conditioned over the years that I have a hard time getting high and not going out and exercising).

I could write volumes on the relationship between pot and physical activity but, quite honestly, the vape is waiting and I need to get in a workout before it gets too dark out.
 
I find its better to lift before totally annihilating your motivation. Also, after i smoke i find it less likely i will hit the gym & heavy bag.
 
I never smoke with the intent to work out. But, sometimes the first bonghit in a couple of days will really catch me off guard and I'll find myself panicky about something that might not be happening or is something I can't change. This is where I'll start doing some curls or squeezing those gripper things. Within 3-5 minutes, I feel so so much better.

and @ Uzi. Idk about that. Personally I used pretty heavy weight and I pushed myself. I felt more relaxed to just DO the workout. I wasnt trudging through it but more looking forward to the next part of the workout.

As far as getting sore. Maybe its gods gift that keeps you from getting sore?

Although most of the time I dip into the hot tub.
 
Hmm interesting. Well the stuff works differently on people.

I know my one friend can go in there be all hardcore and kill the Bench press and stuff.
 
I love getting high and then going for a hike. It's one of my favorite things to do when I'm high.

that's exactly how i feel too.

sometimes when i'm not stoned at the gym, i kinda get bored and just want to get everything over with. but pot seems to give me the patience to be as thorough as i need to be to really push myself (mixing w/ a reasonable amount of ginseng and/or caffeine seems to have a good effect as well).

it also really adds to that rush i get (adrenaline and endorphins and a little angry rap music) from really going for broke on a set or a burn-out. i would definitely say that i'm more intense about my workouts when i'm stoned. the weights/reps tend to be pretty much identical stoned or not.
 
I'd much rather smoke after, I can't stand not being able to concentrate properly when lifting.
 
Well, i think having a sativa strain is key to enjoying any physical activity after smoking. I don't know how i could workout with the body highs i sometimes get.

Vaping is important too i think. I vaped some weed a two weekends ago, went out for a run, and it was amazing. I decided that i absolutely love running lol. I was going sooo fast ....or so i thought. It almost made it so i didn't feel any physical stress.

In terms of lifting though....I think I'd go too slow....and when i go to the gym, I'm always in a hurry kind of. Plus it tends to be crowded. The atmosphere in there is just a mood killer.
 
exercising while stoned is quite fun... and tiring
depends on how much i smoked
when i'm too stoned i get lazy

i've tried swimming while really stoned, it's great =D
though i was having trouble catching my breath after a few runs

another great workout is skateboarding
go to a skatepark, there are potheads there for sure =D

nothing beats the adrenaline rush after a good smoking sesson
 
I used to have a strength training class first hour in high school and we would always smoke before hand. It made the workout a little better being as no one want to work out at 7:00 in the morning.
 
I think the amount you smoke has something to do with it too.

amount is definitely a factor, but for me the timing is also really important.

i've found it works best if i smoke right as I'm about to head out the door. that way I can kinda get ahead of the laziness, which tends to hit me after about 20 or 30 minutes (especially if I'm just sitting around watching tv while I smoke). i'll usually end up smoking while i'm getting dressed and listening to aggressive music, so it ends up being kind of a part of my "getting psyched" routine.

For me, the mix with cardio- is a no-go.
It makes my pulse extremely prominent, and the time dilation makes exercise seem all the more arduous.

I love smoking before the gym, though i try not to get too baked.
You can smoke all you want before your workout... the key is too just drink some NO shotgun before heading to the gym. It will give you all the motivation you need and some INSANE fucking pumps!
