Do you have a bad cold or the flu now? When I had a REALLY bad flu years ago I coughed up very nasty stuff as this happens when you are sick.

Perhaps you should get a vaporizer or start eating it? Talk to your doctor first.

I would go for the vap, even leaving out the potential of a more serious respiratory complication (as was indicated by your post)
it would be a good idea seeing as your suffering from asthma.
