^^ It's completely understandable that a GP would be hesitant if he/ she had not heard of selegiline being used in this manner. I should add, that before I asked for a script, I dumped a pile of reading material; published findings in reputable journals etc. on his desk. After he'd had time to digest the contents he was more than willing to oblige this old student's aging memory.
Other friends have had success following much the same format. But with the potential dangers, it's all about how the doctor perceives you; are you inclined to act irresponsibly, and more importantly, are you well aware of the dangers?
Mine knew of my past history with drug use, but I had no problems looking him in the eye and saying that I wouldn't be taking any stimulants (NA/DA) with Selegiline. I guess a worthy word of advise when selecting an appropriate GP, is to go for one who's a bit older and can appreciate the need to counter a declining memory.
