Small scale LSD storage - Timeframe = 3-5 months.

Okay so I have done a TON of searches on BL and other relative sites and have been unable to come up with an acceptable response so far. I am curious about storing a relatively small dose of LSD for a matter of 3-5 months which will start out as liquid, and be consumed however is necessary. I am looking to store a total of 2 personal doses, contained in a currently unknown medium, for a period of 3-5 months.

A little backstory. I am attending a festival this year, and have an immediate opportunity to purchase some decent liquid based LSD. I have no information regarding the procedure used to make and/or dilute the product, and no way to acquire such information. I am not purchasing enough to simply drop it in a bottle and store it, we are talking 4-6 drops TOTAL, the medium contact loss would be enough to halve the initial purchase just by transferring it one time.

So basically, I am looking for a decent medium to drop 2 to 3 doses onto, which will hold the active chemical for a period of 3-5 months. I will be doing this twice, then sealing the results into an airtight glass jar for the time specified above. I am extremely hesitant to use sugar, or cosmetic 'blotting paper' as it does not seem to be stable based on the research I have done so far. As far as the research I have done, #14 art paper seems to be the best choice, but I am still wary.

Any help, and or criticism would be GREATLY appreciated.

Thanks Folks,

Desperately Seeking Lucy,

Lokkey.

I don't know what references / research you read but sugar or blotter paper should be fine, in fact it is probably better than liquid because as a rule chemicals degrade faster in solution because they get ionized and ionized chemicals are potentially one step into the direction of an intermediate product towards something else. And something else, not being your original product itself, is a degradation product.

Not sure what 'cosmetic' blotter paper is or what you mean by it.

What you are looking for is an inert carrier. Meaning a carrier that is unreactive with regard to your LSD. And also preferably not something that attracts moisture from the air. That may be paradoxical since liquid acid also often contains water, but some mushy candy that has your acid is obviously no good.

3-5 months is really not *that* long to store LSD so don't freak out about it too much. I will say though that even for such a period it certainly couldn't hurt to use methods to protect your acid extra well.

There are people who just dose something like a candy, sugar cube or piece of blotter paper, put it in a baggy in the back of a dark drawer and be fine.

If you want to go the extra mile, guard against the 4 elements of nature: heat, water (moisture, also water in the air), oxygen and light.

Don't stress about the heat unless you live in a particularly hot climate. Just be careful with temperature fluctuations, they can be more detrimental than storing at room temperature instead of a fridge or freezer. Furthermore, fridges and freezers attract much more water so you will have to be extra careful with that if you choose to refrigerate.

Protection against light should be obvious, just use some layer(s) of containers that do not allow light, especially UV light. Amber glass is good as well.

Protection against water and oxygen partially goes hand in hand. Sealing is one part of the story, there can still be oxygen and water in the air trapped inside with the LSD. Don't worry about the oxygen though, unless there is constant fresh oxygen wafting over it it won't kill your LSD.
You can use a desiccant to dry the air, the drying agent chemical will attract water in enclosed air and sacrifice itself to bond with it.

So to sum up, just use anything that is chemically unreactive under normal circumstances including a sugarcube or blotter paper (but no bleached paper), enclose a packet of desiccant (like silica gel, calcium chloride, sodium sulfate, magnesium sulfate), seal together in one or more layers of baggies. And put in a jar, store it away in the back of a cabinet out of the light. If your home only fluctuates a few degrees in warmth it is fine. If you have bad isolation and temp goes all over the place, put it in the fridge or freezer.

If you have any sources for info why certain common forms of storage are unacceptable, please share and/or quote them so that we can evaluate it.

I don't believe that you have searched well enough on Bluelight, but I understand if you didn't know where to look. There is the LSD storage subthread, you can find it using the search engine or by visiting the Psychedelic Index (link below in my sig), going to the LSD Thread and checking it for a link to the subthread. It's like a few steps in a menu.

Unbleached watercolor paper works pretty well in my experience, although you may need a bigger piece than you expected as the drop will spread out quite a bit. I've had good experience storing it on Altoids, Necco Wafers, and sugar cubes, all individually wrapped with tin foil and put in a bag in a jar - even up to 3 months after dropping it on the candy they were still potent. When making candy the key is to let them sit for a good 20 or 30 minutes for everything to get absorbed. The only candy I tried that didn't stay potent very long was Sour Patch Kids, but who knows since I didn't make them myself and they could have just been a weak batch.
