Sleeping pill suggestions

^ the SUBSTANTIAL research on the efficacy of melatonin begs to differ. Most readily available herbal and (especially) homeopathic options are utter bullshit but melatonin has a strong empirical-base for its efficacy.

the best downers ever are barbs(nembutal seconal tuinal) but they've been replaced with benzos (diazepam temazepam) And docs will not hand them out like they used to-and they don't like to give out nonbenzodiazepams or so called z-drugs (zopiclone zaleplon) - thats british drug laws for you! anyway the drugs you've been given would most likely work for most people-have you tried zopiclone, you may know them as imovane/zimavane i think.if they dont work you should ask for benzos temazepam/nitrazepam -good for the short term but you can't take them forever(i could be wrong but i think the most potent benzo is britizolam). Now for some constructive help-1. etizolam or pyrazolam r the only good benzos that arent controlled -but the best stuff (second only to barbs) is something called methaqualone -or mandrax.its a controlled drug-but the analogue Elaqualone is'nt...

Be VERY careful with barbiturates. The most dangerous downer of all. I used to take Nembutal, Amytal, phenobarbitone, amongst other hypnotics. I don't like the barbs precisely because you don't really sleep on them, it's more like they anesthetize you. Deep sleep is virtually impossible on barbiturates, but they sure do take away the anxiety - while they still work at such and such a dose that is. Benzos are better in this regard, but still fuck up your sleep patterns if they are not used sparingly.

When I refer to deep sleep I am talking about proper quality deep sleep, not a fake drug-induced comatose-like state that barbiturates (and yes, to a lesser extent, benzos) can only offer. For me I'd rather use a strong antihistamine like Diphenhydramine for that purpose. Barbiturates are fine for anxiety, but total shit for sleep.

you're right, i got bit carried away, melatonin does have therapeuic value to treat insomnia, just not as an instant "knock-out pill" like triazolam etc.

^ yeah, certainly not which is why many don't give it a shot. People want instant solutions and melatonin isn't triazolam, you're right.

Ashwagandha

its ridiculously healthy too.

....
Ashwagandha is used for arthritis, anxiety, trouble sleeping (insomnia), tumors, tuberculosis, asthma, a skin condition marked by white patchiness (leukoderma), bronchitis, backache, fibromyalgia, menstrual problems, hiccups, and chronic liver disease.

Ashwagandha is also used as an “adaptogen” to help the body cope with daily stress, and as a general tonic.

Some people also use ashwagandha for improving thinking ability, decreasing pain and swelling (inflammation), and preventing the effects of aging. It is also used for fertility problems in men and women and also to increase sexual desire.

Ashwagandha is applied to the skin for treating wounds, backache, and one-sided paralysis (hemiplegia).

The name Ashwagandha is from the Sanskrit language and is a combination of the word ashva, meaning horse, and gandha, meaning smell. The root has a strong aroma that is described as “horse-like.”
webmd

there are also studies into its effectiveness at preventing alzheimers

i just saw my doc again and told him how i had to stack my ambien because it wouldnt slow down my mind, just my body, and he got me on 1mg xanax.
2mg is the best sleep ive had in a year or so.
(i have adhd, was on the daily amphetamine regiment for 10 years, took myself off because of side effects. every pill and every dosage was administered throughout the decade)

i woud never have known about melatonin if not on this forum, no doctor ever suggested it as a sleeping aid, to help restore a natural sleep cycle, the impression i got, after being Rx xyz amounts of cyamemazine, or mirtazepine and hypnotic benzos to help sleep, was that melatonin would be too "weak" from the little i read about it at the time....
