Sleeping on stims

Why is it that whenever im with friends and come off my stim high, im tired and untalkative and all i want to do is try and sleep, but then when im by myself trying to sleep my mind keeps racing and it feels like sleep is impossible.

This has happened to me on coke and adderall, even if i smoke weed to try and pass out faster, im still wide awake.

It's called a comedown bro...
 
I know what a come down is, but thats not what im saying. When im with people im tired and want to sleep, then when im trying to sleep its impossible. Even well after.
 
What sucks is if your stubborn and decide to lay in bed all night while the amphets are still affected you. About half the time I do this while coming down I get into this state where I'm asleep but somehow awake. Yet its really fucked, like I will dream constantly yet thrash around in my sleep and realize I'm doing it but still can't wake up. Its my definition of insanity, other than Opiate Withdrawals.
 
You are tired and WANT to sleep but your body won't let you sleep. Whether other people are around doesn't have a lot to do with it, just that you're more tired from making conversation.

ha yup i know what thats like. every time a try to sleep when coming down i always have like weird thoughts/dreams and move around and know im awake but like 5 minutes later ill be like wait was i just asleep?
 
This is pretty common... it happens to me while I'm coming down from meth. I'm tired, I can't feel the effects of the drug any more, but I can't fall asleep. Eventually I do sleep, but it takes time. I'll usually just take Seroquel to knock me out.
 
Yeah.......i'm glad I don't do coke anymore.

I used to do it every weekend, and on more than one occassion, i've actually got out of bed and put micropore tape on my eyes to keep them shut and stop em twitching.

And it got to the point where the sound of birds tweeting at dawn was the worst fucking sound in the world.
