Sleep "agents" that put your ass out QUICK with no lingering drowsiness upon waking?

Zolpidem works just fine. Seroquel was the most powerful sleep aid i have ever tried. It will take anybody out, but its shit drug, an antipshychotic and way overkill. But hell it worked like a boss for sleep. Wish they made a version that included the sleep shit only.

The heavy neuroleptics (like Seroquel) do keep you asleep much longer than Ambien. However, they tend to make you agitated, very out of it and very uncomfortable. Ambien is the opposite.

It makes you feel very relaxed, very comfortable, and gives you a nice sleepy feeling rather than a very uncomfortable out of it feeling like Seroquel or other antipsychotics.

Snarky have you tried trazadone yet? It's one medicine that doctors generally don't have problems prescribing and many people find it helps for sleep. Keep in mind anything you take on a nightly basis will lose effectiveness.

Yeah i never noticed other issues with the Seroquel, most likely since i passed out so fast after. Next day no issues either, no drowsyness, no mental issues. The one thing i did notice when you dose that i didnt like was the increased heart rate caused by the drop in blood pressure. That was unpleasant and feels almost on meth level heart reate increase from just one pill 300mg dose.

Also, if you take it and try walk around and not sleep right away you can get close to fainting. I think i dropped a few times taking it after stim use and fainting from the BP drop/lack of sleep/food etc issues combined once it kicked in. The shit really really strong and probably not good for you.

Other then that zolpidem is amazing, i love it for many reasons. Its a get to sleep drug, zopiclone for staying asleep. An increased dosage for those who find it week will work for anybody, and it makes you feel good, comfortable and sleep comes easily because your happy about lying in bed and sleeping, which is my biggest issue. I hate the idea of getting in bed and waiting to sleep, trying not to think about shit, trying not to focus on being uncomfortable. Zolpidem also wears off fast, like 3 hours, so no issues the next day.

I hate the concept of sleep, If i could never sleep again it would be awesome.

^Trazadone did kick ass for me...at first. After having a horrible sleep cycle and shit sleep i went to the doc and got it prescribed. 50mgs knocked me out for 14 hours but i felt like ass the next day. I kept taking it and on top of feeling like ass i had drug using nightmares among other bad dreams and i threw that shit away. Fuck trazadone IMO

Trazodone is an overrated peice of shit that was probably rediscovered by some mediocre pharmacist in the basements of the Bayer manufacturing labs.

All it does is make you feel out of it and unconfortable - just like an antipsychotic. On top of that, it causes horrible RLS and therefore Trazodone actually made it so I couldn't sleep even though I wanted to so badly.

I really enjoyed the scheduling ability of Seroquel for sleep. If you take it, you will sleep, no matter what or where you are. So I could schedule a good time, like 1030 every day to go to bed.

Now it sucks because i hate sleep, i never actually get tired or at least feel like i desire sleep, ive never felt the sensation others describe of looking forward to going to sleep. It feels like a total waste of time and then i need to lie there and be alone with my thoughts for an hour before falling asleep and its really boring.

And benzos make me more interested in doing stuff and not sleeping.

So i always end up delaying sleep and have a shit sleep cycle. Usually get to bed at 2 and awake at 12 the next day. But I like working at night, more productive, less distraction.

zyprexa puts me to sleep and after a week of being on it i am rid of the side effect of morning after drowsiness

The only half-decent non-gabanergic I was ever prescribed was Doxepin. Sure, it lasted well into the morning so next day drowsiness was a huge problem.

However, it was the only TCA (or any anticholinergic/antiserotonergic/antihistaminergic/antiadrenergic drug for that matter) that put me to sleep and didn't give me horrible RLS. The anticholinergic side-effects were rough to begin with (dry mouth, and waking up so dehydrated that I would drink nearly a liter of water instantly upon waking, was a problem) but other than that, it's the only antimonoaminergic drug that I ever had half-decent results from.

Personally I can't see myself taking anything illicit just to get some sleep so I buy ZzzQuil from Walgreens. =D Knocks me out cold in less than 5 minutes.

Zzzquil is just an expensive name for Benadryl (Diphenhydramine). Don't pay their bullshit prices, just buy generic benadryl.

Fuck trazadone.

Call me old fashioned, but i'd rather take Chloral Hydrate than an anti-psychotic for insomnia.

i thought zzzquil was dph and alcohol either case a couple bendryl and a couple shots would help most sleep but you wouldn't feel completely refreshed in the morning

Alcohol actually causes insomnia. So no, don't take the shots. And don't drink before bed.

^My dad would disagree. He has been knocking himself out with alcohol every night as far as I can remember.

It's actually science that backs me up. He thinks he needs alcohol for sleep, but in reality, he's just drinking so much that he's passing out. That's not sleep, that's a drug-induced coma (seriously, that's the definition of drug-induced coma).

I did the same for long, feels like sleep, but the quality of sleep is very low, and it causes more problems the next day and so the cycle continues.
