Any idea? Used to have panic disorder but not much recently, at least not so dramatic as before.

whoa--I would stay away from coke if you have any tendency to anxiety or panic. I thought I was going to die one time my heart was beating so fast. it's probably an arrhythmia caused by anxiety. if you keep using it (unless you purify it, maybe) you will have a meltdown at some point where you'll want an ambulance.

er, probably.

It may have less to do with panic than with the unfortunate property of coke to deregulate the heart. Some people register heart problems with the slightest quantities of coke, other can get away with injecting near lethal amounts without noticing much impact on the heart.

Panic/anxiety don't usually mix that well with stimulants, especially cocaine, sadly.

If you feel you're having heart issues when using cocaine, it is strongly recommended that you stop using cocaine ASAP.

If you continue to experience heart problems or are concerned (anxious, panic-stricken) it is always the best bet to consult professional medical advice. xxl is right, cocaine is infamous for causing heart beat regulation issues and rapid heartbeat, along with heart damage in some people. Please be careful :)

NOTE: We are not doctors, nor do we claim that our advice is 100% medically sound. The only surefire way to get a proper diagnosis/treatment is to go to the Doctor or Hospital. If you feel you are in immediate danger, call 911

If I were you, I would seriously try very hard to stay away from stimulants. People who are prone to panic/anxiety, and/or have heart problems, heart problems in the family, etc should not use cocaine. If you notice these symptoms, please do yourself a favor and DON'T do anymore coke. While it may not kill you today, or next week, or next year even, these heart problems are no joke and CERTAINLY could put you in a very precarious medical situation.

I would go to the doctor and talk to him about your heart palpitations and skipping beats and anxiety/panic, etc. You don't necessarily have to tell him about cocaine usage, just that you notice that your heart is acting a bit funny. THere is a good chance that nothing major is wrong with your body, but it is certainly better to get it checked out, to be safe. If you choose not to go to the doctor, and then go out and do some coke, and die, well..that would be ultra-beat, no?

Cocaine is very taxing on your body and heart. Personally, I have a SEVERE panic/anxiety disorder, and doing stimulants is rarely enjoyable for me. It makes my blood pressure and heart rate SKYROCKET. During the experience I always find myself not getting adequate breaths, and sometimes get heart palpitations. With nothing on hand to calm me down (i.e benzos/opiates) my stimulant experiences are just riddled with panic/anxiety, especially in conjunction with the crazy physical symptoms I experience.

Your best bet would simply be to stay the fuck away ! Haha. If you must continue doing stimulants for whatever reason, take as small a dose as possible, and make sure to take your time between lines. Staying hydrated is VERY important, as dehydration can make anxiety/panic worse. Also, while coke binges aren't typically helpful in regards to eating, but eating a little snack here and there between lines and drinking water will help you feel better.

Since I have extreme anxiety disorders as well as minor heart problems, I try to stay away from coke these days. IF I do decide to indulge for whatever reason, IT IS A MUST for me to have benzos on hand. (Xanax, klonopin, valium, etc.) Taking a small dose DURING your session will help keep your BP and heart rate in check, as well as eliminate most of the negative mental/physical side effects associated with the drug. Also, AFTER your session is done, a nice dose of a benzos will make the come-down non existent, as well as help you drift off to sleep if possible.

Good luck, we all obviously hope you are okay. If you do go to the doctor please post again and let us know.

Mike

That happens since cocaine can shorten the QTc interval thus giving you that feeling of missing a heart beat. Which is extremely dangerous, since that can lead to sudden cardiac arrest!!

Yeah I have only used coke on the rarest occasions nor do I really know that much about it but I know that stimulants can ruin your body so quickly and if you happen to be unlucky then it may only take the smallest bit to kill you and im sure no one around you wants to see that, I hope you dont either.

I suggest you go to the doctor and stop using but if your going to keep using get some benzos and if you dont find the benzos working then definitely get and ambo in there. Your playing russian roulette though.

The weird part is I used to be a junky till a year ago (IV Heroin & Cocaine, usually together) and never have this problem when I shoot it or smoke freebase or crack; happens only when I snort.

^The effects of a drug change quite a bit depending on how it is administered. I found that for me, things like methamphetamine and cocaine, when smoked, give a feeling that is more instantly stoning but less intense overall. Snorting these substances seems to give more effects but not instantly. The easiest way to measure this with stimulants IMO is by the involuntary movements induced... It takes quite a bit of smoked cocaine/ meth to give me tremors like I would get from snorting a decent line.

Regarding the OP... Stimulants for the most part are bad on the body, especially in large doses like when taken recreationally-- Amphetamine and cathinone are pretty toxic to the brain, and cocaine is toxic to the heart. Your symptoms could be due to anxiety, but cocaine is cardiotoxic and so it is impossible to say that it was anxiety and that no serious damage to the heart occurred. I hate to sound like I'm scaremongering, but I'm not.

If you do continue to use cocaine, be careful with the dosing and regularity, and don't mix with alcohol. Cocaethylene is formed when alcohol and cocaine are taken together and the cardiotoxicity of this compound is even worse. Do your heart a favor and avoid cocaethylene!
