Misc single papaver somniferum opium yield

hello guys
im intrested in growing poppies indoors.
just fto find a hobby.
and i wonder how much opium in average one poppy will yield?
starting dose is 0.1g am i right?

maybe 20-50mg? It depends on technique, cultivar, whether or not you collect one "scraping" or multiple... not worth bothering unless you have a whole garden full

its hard to find opium around here.
as a fan of opiates is the only way i can see its effects

Opium poppies aren't really something you can grow indoors - they can grow very big and as Sekio said, you'd need a garden full in order to extract a significant amount of opium from the latex. You'd be far better off planting them outside then making a brew out of the mature pods.

dont you need hot climate like in middle east or something is european weather enough for them to grow?

I grow them every year Pete. Usually get 2-300 pods. Got a nice patch on the go now.

No, just make pod tea. Producing smoking opium is too labour intensive for the casual grower...

I’ve heard at most 60-80mg per pod, but that’s probably best case scenario.
