I've took piracetam very occasionally, and maybe the following is a reason why it's only been occassionally.

Every time I take it, (I dissolve about a gram into a little water and drink it), I get itchy. First around the lips where the water touches, and then over the course of the next 30 minutes or so, my fingers, feet, butt, legs, random parts of my body get this tingly itching sensation. It's a bit annoying. Am I allergic to piracetam?

Manky? It doesn't have a strong pungent flavor, but it does taste gross, kind of like... i dunno, a stale chemical. It's also possible my tolerance for gross-tasting things is way high. I've sipped cactus tea (the WORST), ayahuasca, and i eat my greens despite how good the pizza looks.

The batches I've had taste similar to magnesium sulfate.

From the post-marketing experience, the following adverse drug reactions have been reported (sorted according to MedDRA System Organ Classes). Data are insufficient to support an estimate of their incidence in the population to be treated.

- Ear and labyrinth disorders:

vertigo

- Gastrointestinal disorders:

abdominal pain, abdominal pain upper, diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting

- Immune system disorders:

anaphylactoid reaction, hypersensitivity

- Nervous system disorders:

ataxia, balance impaired, epilepsy aggravated, headache, insomnia, somnolence

- Psychiatric disorders:

agitation, anxiety, confusion, hallucination

- Skin and subcutaneous tissue disorders:

angioneurotic oedema, dermatitis, pruritus, urticaria, rash

i.e. allergic reactions have been reported.

Nevertheless, know your source:

Individuals reporting side effects from piracetam should be aware that most of the bulk suppliers of piracetam in the United States resell untested powders from China which are often filled with contaminants. I bought and tested bulk powder from three different bulk nutrition suppliers in the united states and found all three to contain unacceptable levels of bacteria, metal, and fungus. Because it's completely uncontrolled in the united states, it should be purchased from a reputable source or from a pharmacy overseas.

Yes u're allergic, I'm a p.doc , try pyritinol instead piracetam u're lucky to be alive if u had more say 2.4g people often have u may had anaphylactic reaction, u're throat closes , u can't breathe if not taken to the ER u die.
Here's an easy way out 1hr before taking piracetam take levocetrizine or loratidine.or plain avil. even after this u have symptoms taking 1g get adrenaline injection or decadan injection and inject if symptoms appear as severely as before.Symptom0s will go away. Then sware not to take piracetam, again. there r so many cognitive enhancers bacopa, ashwagandha, vinpocetine, pyritinol, low dose 5mg admanta, galantamine ,selegiline, rasagiline, acetyl carnitine and so on

Hello, I have the same question here:

I took some piracetam and started getting weird rashes all over my chest area. My throat didn't close up and nor did my lips itch. I also beforehand missed hours of sleep and had a weak immune system to start with. My question is am I allergic to piracetam? I stopped taking it and still have those rashes on my chest, and anti-histamines didn't do anything. Do you think there was another cause for my rashes?

Op, do you have any allergies to food or medication?

Not that I know of, I also tested the piracetam out on my hands and nothing happened. I'm wondering if the piracetam had anything to do with the eases I got on my chest since that happened shortly after I took it.
