Similar Patterns on Shrooms

So I've recently taken shrooms twice in a three week period. The first time the dosage was quite low (1.5g if that) and second time I think it was around 2 or 2.5g max (yes I should get a scale).

Anyways neither trips were super mind blowing. But the one similarity I found in both were these patternistic little shapes that continue on wherever I looked (the wall, the carpet, the bed etc.)

I was wondering has anyone else seen these similar patterns that seem to overlay your perception when on shrooms. Perhaps it can only occur on small dosages?

I see patterns on lsd, mushies , and 2cx's. Low doses they will be less common. On a good dose of 2ce I literally see them everywhere.

I can't speak for mushrooms specifically as I've yet to take them and they also contain baeocystin, but I can speak for 4-AcO-DMT, which turns into Psilocin, the main component in mushrooms.

Whenever I take > 20mg or so, I get this overlay grid over my vision. Either just a plain grid pattern overlay, or a grid of eyes, or a grid of triangles - the one thing that remains the same is this grid pattern over everything, and the higher the dose the more prominent the overlay and the more intricate the patterning.

At > 70mg (think 10g+ dry shrooms) your entire visual field folds in on itself and your vision just becomes a kaleidoscope, making moving around pretty much impossible - or at the very least very dangerous without someone guiding you around.

wassup jesus?! lol. nice to see you here.

on topic though, I always get patterns on shrooms. Real aztec-y like stuff, if you will. When I smoke bowls I always see like a little tiki guy in the cherry, never fails.

From my experience on a low enough dose of shrooms just enough to get subtle visuals like you're describing, I do get similar ones all the time. They really come out on concrete like the street, or sidewalk or something.

They're really complex to explain though. They're like a cluster of intricate geometric patterns spiraling out from a center point.

Ya it seems we've all seen these patterns. They are aztecy I would agree, and also work like a grid, where the pattern is repeated.

I'll be doing 3 grams soon and we'll see how the patterns look then.

Yes I and I am sure many others have experienced patterns that often appear to be quite similar looking at art based on it.
I think this is because of archetypal patterns we are born with, something like Jungian forms but also patterns corresponding to our sensory detection 'circuits', by that I mean the mechanisms responsible for our recognition of life-forms, faces, symbols, sounds and the nature of its source, and so on.
It seems to me like we are actually seeing a part of our own makeup that is superimposed rather than something inherently present in the things we see but are unable to sober for some reason.
The latter is another popular idea, that psychedelics allow us to sense things that were already there but normally invisible or inaudible. I think that is a wrong externalization of our own mind-manifestation experience.

Thats a theory I haven't heard, but ya it makes sense. But another thing I noticed while on shrooms was that whatever I really looked at I would eventually stop seeing the "bullshit" so to speak.

For example I was staring at my washroom wall and I do this everyday and its just a white wall, but after staring at it for 30 seconds (the patterns were there ofcourse), but also I could see all the spider webs on the wall and spiders moving around, small areas where the colour had rubbed off, and none of this I saw when I was regularly in the washroom everyday.

Psychedelics seem to break down the 'filters' you built up over the course of your life, allowing more information to get inside your mind for analyzation.

Patterns... patterns that overcome my entire vision like a blanket.

hexagons connecting to one another and beehiving, spiraling into limitless range, seeming to explain infinity to me by it's expression.

my first few trips were very visual.

I've done shrooms before and all I got were nasty mood swings. Almost no visuals at all.

K so you guys, seem to be experiencing the same patterns that I have been.

Just recently I smoked some crazy weed after about a month of not smoking, and closed my eyes and tried to see if I could see any visuals. Once I opened them the shroom patterns were back, which shocked the shit out of me because I had just only smoked weed.

Anyways I tried to explain to my friends what these patterns are but none of them had ever seen them. I was wondering if anyone knows of a good way to explain them or are there any pictures that someone has drawn of these patterns (I suck at drawing or I would).

I've seen what I'd describe as paisley-like patterns that overlay, or emboss, normal vision, and quite frequently what I'd describe as symbols similar to those of the Greek alphabet and/or Egyptian hieroglyphs.

These seem more prevalent on particular strains and/or lower doses, for me.

I agree with Solipsis (if I understand correctly) that it seems to me to be some exaggeration or distortion or break-down of a mechanism our visual system (in the broadest sense) uses to interpret the world.

Mushrooms patterns are like a lesser version of DMT in my opinion. Which makes total sense

4-OH-DMT
DMT

call it a hunch

I always get the same type of visual pattern going on when I take shrooms. Its usually a tribal, aztec like pattern that starts at the top left and travels outward from there.

This is imprinted on anything in my field of vision. It actually reminds me of the tribal swirling tattoo that Mike Tyson has on his face.

idk patterning is a documented visual phenomenon on most psychedelics... it's fairly common for many people to experience it on many different drugs. some people have different visual idiosyncrasies with the same drug. thats pretty much it

I actually asked my friends this the last time we tripped. I asked, "Do your hallucinations on mushrooms consist mostly of this specific pattern that seems to be layered over everything?" They agreed fully. It's definitely an "Aztecy" pattern, most noticeable on big blank surfaces (walls, sky, forest canopy etc) I think it's pretty cool that we all see the same thing. Interesting.

I find LSD hallucinations however, to be a little less bounded by a specific pattern.

bro honestly dont be afraid and do 3.5 or more. i love taking around half ounce of shroom tea to my dome. taste so wonderful and with in 15 minutes im tripping hard as hell... my whole visual was messed up last time i did i swear i thought i was in Simpson or family guy or futurama. i was really confused cause i couldn't figure out what tv show . walls were all different colors.. i fucking love shrooms... too bad i cant find ANY out in Vegas.... over a year. really depressed..

as mushies are the msot visual for me of all things i tried, patterning is quite common. also, shifts in general 3d view, morphing, breathing of surfaces.... they are really awsome.

the best visuals i got from them were turning an everyday backstreet park into this luxurious jungle, or a simple path into this impressionistic golden road.... or the trees that hug me...

but back to patterning, ive found that sometimes looking for it turns the effect on stronger, and sometimes insisting on looking at something can bring it forward. like getting lost in the images...
