I've been on Paxil for several months now and one of the first things I noticed
was that my appetite was dramatically reduced.
This is a common side effect, maybe the most common (or maybe drymouth).
However, usually it's transient....but as most of my other side effects dropped
away the appetite remained low. I've lost probably 25 pounds, dropped from
a 34 to a 31 waist, and am just shocked at how sexy i've gotten :)
How many of you on SSRIs have had long-lasting appetite supression and/or
weight loss?
-u40915, not vain yet but working on it

I didn't experience any weight loss on Prozac. Some people experience weight gain on SSRIs, as well. Basically, there isn't one general way that people respond -- people can go either way.
Wrong forum, btw...this type of question belongs in Heatlh.

Thats odd cause my cousin was on Paxil for some difficult shit she was going through. It destroyed her sex drive & she had increased appetite. She gained like 10-15 pounds...

on both zoloft and paxil it lists a common side effect of weight loss, but never weight gain. i guess weight gain is more in the minority for SSRI users?
